I put a DVD-R that had some files on it in my DVD-ROM drive and it read the disc just fine. I closed it and shut down my computer for the night. Today I put the DVD-R back in there and the DVD-ROM can't read it. Its not scratched and I cleaned it just incase but it still doesn't work. Anyone know how to fix this?

Do other DVD-ROMs/DVD-R/DVD+R still work?

could be a number of things, 1) a faulty drive, 2) disconnection 3) installation problem

You could try uninstalling and reinstalling, or try a different disk.

or of course it could be the quality of the disk.

dvd-r tend to be very cheap and very shit, which is why i use TDK DVD+R's which ive NEVER had a problem with in about 200 disks.

could also be a data integrity problem which I get on DVD+RW's after maybe 10 writes they just plain refuse to read.
