DX 9.0c will only make a difference in Far Cry with SM 3.0 enabled on the recalled 1.2 patch. And you can only enable SM 3.0 on certain Nvidia drivers (ironically not the new ones) with a 6800 class GPU. A bit useless right now to the average person, even for a person who has a 6800 class GPU.
