It's always hard to tell when The Future will arrive - just look at Kubrick's 2001, or Space: 1999 - but in this case, the makers of team based cyberpunk techno-blaster mod Dystopia have made things so much easier: after three years of hard work, the finished Version 1 will finally be released at 12:10 am GMT on Februrary 24. That's this saturday - 7pm in US EST, and 11am in Aussie time.[br]
[br]To celebrate, they've released a teaser trailer which shows off some of the exciting new features in Version 1. Download it here. Le Team are also looking for people who can help with mirroring or setting up servers in preparation for the release date. Find out more here.[br]That date again![br]12:00 a.m. Saturday February 24, 2007 in GMT[br]07:00 p.m. Friday February 23, 2007 in US EST[br]11:00 a.m. Saturday February 24, 2007 in AU ESDT[br]Timezone converter for your convenience.

you wrote 12:10am gmt then at the bottom its 12:00am gmt lolololol

Yes, it's positively flaming.

I am somewhat perplexed as to why the man in the picture has had his lower-arm hastily edited out and replaced with some lacklustre gore effects. The image also fails at contrast by tinting the soldier's edges green so that they simply melt into the explosion. Overall poor. 4/10. I'd wait for the DvD release.

Sweet. Can't wait for this, looks like some pretty bad ass additions.

Unforgivable!!
Inconceivable!

I refuse to change it, just to spite you all.

Although... they probably spent more time making the mod than that picture.

Actually, one of our fans made that picture. I must say, we have one of the best communities of fans and supporters a mod could wish for, they've really helped drive our development over the last few years

more PR bs than you can shake a stick at right there.

Not that you dont have a great community, but the statement still makes me want to ram my fingers down my throat :p

Download from BT fools! imba speeds atm

maybe I should check it out, didn't like the version I tried quite some time ago though.

Still feels the same, I didn't notice any major improvments. Very sci-fi and the graphics seem to have gotten worse somehow? Maybe a bit rushed..

But I'll keep playing it a little longer yet :sniper:

Hasn't ging put a muzzle on you yet?
because artists arn't robots?

EDIT: Treid v1 for a time. Still noit a fan. I may get into more it at some point later.

Crits: Animations are still are little bit dodgey.
The ledge grab is a nice addition for leg booster lovers.
THe tutorial doesnt do a whole lot to explain objectives.
Cyberspace looks genuinly nice now

downloading now - I expect leaning and squad play
otherwise I will be very disappointed

No leaning and I don't think leaning would suit the type of game this is anyway.

The ball game thingy is quite a fun diversion from the game :E

What's changed/added in this version? Is there a list anywhere being as there site is sort of down.

Wow, that's a big list! Thanks Teddy. What are 'PB' maps? A different game mode?

Edit: Thanks to all people seeding torrent, it's downloaded very quickly! Cheers :D

Great release.

The new maps and weapons are pretty cool, gameplay seems alot faster paced than the demo though.

My opinion as well
What exactly changed from the demo to v1 I can't tell - it feels and plays identically ... and I'm not sure that's a good thing. The demo had potential but had serious gameplay flaws. It seems v1 hasn't really taken the big step forward I wanted to see. And the maps are STILL hideously ugly and linear - my first complaint about the damn game.

Hmmmm, I thought that V1 looked uglier, but then I took off HDR. This is a game that doesn't look better with bloom out the wazoo, and it plays faster.

Also if you think the game is linear, play in cyberspace sometime, it gives you a better appreciation for some of the complexities of the maps. I agree that a lot of the maps could use better art direction, I've seen UT maps that look better.

I'm loving V1, though I loved the demo before hand.

I like it. It's got some unique gameplay that no one actually paying to make a game would think of. I'll check it out online later, chances are I'll suck at it though.
