But where is Aftermath. Ive check my my IGN Insider and Gamespy Founders Club but no news :/

Who do Valve think they are, all the biggest games, bigger than Aftermath anyway, are announced on the first day, why are Valve being sad and making us wait?

Afaik the conferences have the expo starts tonight/tomorrow depending on where you live.

ah ok i see, just thought it had started because everything started to get revealed: Nintendo Revolution, Ps3, MGS 4 etc.....didnt realise it hadnt actually started lol

thanks

Check the games forum for E3 posts. :)

I thought Aftermath wasn't showed at E3?

How about some Team Fortress 2? ^^

Forget everithyng, guys. Im sorry to inform that Half Life just got hit in a Pearl Harbour-kinda way: Killzone 2, for Ps3. Watch the E3 trailer... you will understand.

Gameplay is what is important, and we'll have to see..

Please stop systematically spamming threads on all the forums.

Thank you.

Now can anybody answer me if Aftermath and/or TF2 are at E3?

Only Valve can, so far they've been nothing but dead silent on the E3-front.

HL2 Xbox and The Lost Coast are at E3. No more. And no videos yet, perhaps they start tommorow or Friday?

im still hoping theyll surprise everyone with TF2
apart from hl1/2 they havent made a full game. you know what i mean. time for a change perhaps?

No TF2 at E3, I'm afraid...

I'll answer you when the Expo is over, on the 20th.

Most of the best-looking ones were prerendered. So no, that doesn't really count.

And plus, they are next gen.

Ps3 is not an "engine"
Source is an Engine.

God!!!
Now Ps3 is due Late 2006.
Yeah, Pc Graphics will catch up.

And a year after the PS3 is released the graphics will look outdated compared to PC graphics. Poor consoles... can't get a break. :p

omg i just got back from e3, looked everywhere for the ATI booth which i thought was where lost coast was being shown, and nope, then i come home and find that it was in the "games for windows" area, omg im so bummed i cant believe it.

the footage from the ps3 is sooo amazing. xbox 360 stuff looks pretty good too but man, the killzone footage for the ps3 blew the sh*t out of xbox. i'm sure valve will make half-life 3 look as good as that (or better) when they make it. too bad it's gonna be another year or so.

That Killzone 2 clip was amazing stuff it makes Half-Life 2 look PRIMITAVE :D
and where does it say that clip is pre-rendered?

It's obvious it's pre-rendered. The level of quality would just be insane. It would take a relatively long time to render that today using a render farm of multiple computers. If you've seen the Dawn of War intro, that by itself took a team of some of the most talented artists in the industry 4 weeks to create. And that was only 90 seconds of linear footage.

In addition to the Sony demos being shown by Phil Harrison, the Epic and EA presentations were the only third party portions actually running on the PS3 in real-time. But most of those movies, which I probably watched three or four during rehearsals for the event, look very achievable and some were probably rendered on the actual box but in non-real-time. When a system is year away, heck even with a system is six months away, it is reasonable to expect the power of the dev kits would still only be a fraction of the power of the final system.

It is achievable. It's supposed to be a representation of the final product. Exciting stuff these days. However, the level of work needed to create such a game with nonlinear action and a huge world full of details would be staggering compared to the games of today. That's why tools such as ZBrush which speed up normal map creation are getting so useful these days. They allow creation of extremely detailed models which are needed in the future of gaming.

the whole thing about the ps3 though is that it is supposed to be able to sustain movie quality graphics like what was seen in killzone and such. all the other game previews looked pretty much like that graphically too, so you're saying that all the previews were pre-rendered?

pretty much - Sony are a year away from having a finished spec on store shelves. the alpha dev kits will deffo not be as powerful.

again i was at e3 and i got to see the 20 min presentation of ps3, and they said it was all "in-game" footage. but then again, they also said that with their ps2, every game will have toy story like graphics. it was amazing ot see with their high quality screens, then they rub it in ur face and dont let u play it but u can see the system through a glass box, at least microsoft let me play the xbox 360

Well they didn't let you play the 360, just a bunch of G5's hooked togeather...
