e3:mgs4 TRAILER

well it was a big deal to MGS fans because he claimed that he wasn't working on them anymore and everyone thought that until this trailer, so it was indeed big news
exactly it was for the fans who were worried about him leaving, hes not up his own arse, infact in every trailer he makes a point to include the other main members like shinkawa, williams, mori etc

also to the guy who said vamp hasnt been confirmed, if you watch the end of mgs2 you can see him in the background watching snake and raiden. :O he'll definately be back, i hope so, his voice actor was so cool.

also raiden with the baby in his hands is most likely olgas child, maybe the game begins with a prequel-esque part like mgs2 and mgs3 invovling raiden rescuing the child from a patriots feeder school.

also china the vid crashed last night coz of the demand.

Subsistence also will have some very special bonus content-- ports of the original MSX versions of Metal Gear and Metal Gear 2: Solid Snake. Neither has been available in the US before, and both will be fully playable,.

good preview from ign, 3 pages, speculation and theories obviously.

Near the end of Metal Gear Solid 2, we assume that Vamp is killed by a sniper shot; he falls into the ocean after being shot, but we never actually see him die. However, his appearance in this new MGS4 poster suggests that, in fact, he didn't die in that incident

they must have missed out on the vamp appearance at the end, he didnt die. pfft amateurs. :farmer:

In the full poster image for MGS4, Raiden is seen holding a baby which we presume is his own—at the end of Sons of Liberty, Raiden learns that his girlfriend is pregnant. MGS4 takes place three years after the Big Shell incident of Sons of Liberty, making his baby around two years old, an age that matches the art. The baby in the picture looks too young to be the stolen child of Olga, who would be at least three years old (and probably older still).

em where does it say the game takes place 3 years after mgs2, this article has alot of errors.

at the end of Sons of Liberty, the Patriots create Metal Gear Arsenal

its arsenal gear, not metal gear arsenal,

If he returns for Metal Gear Solid 4 (which honestly makes very little sense), it'll be interesting to see if Solid Snakes sides with him or fights against him. If Big Boss still intends to use Metal Gear to overthrow the Philosophers/Patriots then the conflict of interests between him and Snake (and Otacon) would make for a very interesting plot

more than likely hes not alive, snake is probably trying to recover his remains.

Oh. My. God.

MGS4!!!

Can't wait to start watching/ reading/ whatever...

Suicide42 knows my thoughts on the MGS series ;).

Although i am pretty interested in checking out MGS 3 to see what all the fuss is about. Might borrow a PS2 sometime and rent it to try it.

Is it any from MGS: Twin Snakes? Gameplay-wise?

MGS3 is only good if you're a fan of the series. They took gameplay straight from MGS2 / Twin snakes, and placed it in an enviroment which contradicted the engine; I mean, it was designed for close quater urban enviroments, and they tried to place it in a f'cking jungle. If you didn't like TS / MGS2, you probally won't like MGS3... although the plot is less ridiculous.

you only found out now about mgs4?
also the jungle environment worked really well.

edit: the last person in the lineup has been confirmed as naomi in the latest famitsu mag in japan, the other characters are as we thought.

I've actually enjoyed the heck outta MGS3. Its much more realistic and deliberate in its gameplay. I love the reduction of arbitrary cones of vision and caution rules that could be such a pain, and some of the action sequences are just out of this world.

kojima interview, 4 pages, reading...........

I still think, even so, the hardware doesn't provide us at this stage a new revolutionary idea. I still think that game design, by game design, we can make a revolution here.

Well, example is a PC HALF LIFE 2. The hardware didn't make a revolution itself; the software did, because Half-Life 2 introduced us with the physics of explosion or the people trembling, or they put in the physics calculation there for the first time in the game, meaning they upgraded or hired the boss, so to say. It was a revolutionary thing, idea. I think from this example we game designers could do a similar thing, not dependent on the hardware specs to make the revolution, but the game design idea could make a revolution.

hehe he admires hl2.

I can't wait for MGS4, I just hope they don't make the gameplay too action oriented, imo I liked MGS3s balance the most.:)
MGS2 felt sorta lame imo, it was far to restrictive in the environments etc, MGS3 felt like it had some real variety imo, I hope they stick to it, and guys, consider the size(literally) that they have avaible to'em on Blu-Ray discs, over 20 Gigs, they could make a game 4 times the size of MGS3, that'd be sweet...*Dreams*

I don't even care for the crybabbies who hate raiden, but goddamm I would like to see liquid agian, he could kick major ass.

yeah i love the way he said in the interview

We would like to really, really prioritize creativity as number one.

If it was titled "Company," we're not allowed to do this, but since it's "Productions," now we're able to do it in this way.

awesome.

Aw man, right after I buy MGS2, Substance comes out. Now right after I buy MGS3, Susistence comes out. And it comes with both the original Metal Gear games.

Anyone want to buy used copies of MGS 2 & 3? :p
