hl2 cant be ported ...steam

the problem is that there really isnt that big of a mac gaming community ...I should know ...I probably know most of them by name :)

hehe that one button mouse thing is funny ...just buy another mouse ...that's what I did
Steam can be ported, can't it?

probably but is it worth the expense for valve to start from scratch? ...what most of you dont know is that Half-life 1 was supposed to come out for the mac ..there were demos, screenshots etc ..but at the last minute the developer pulled the plug ...never understood why ..but it was a devastating blow ...almost as big as getting Halo stolen from under us ..yes Halo was supposed to be a mac game

Well that's because apple kept that no gaming type mentality like you said.If they was to actually fully endorse gaming and so on...hell even sponser some clans with powermacs.Also...steam...they can fix that to run on unix or something. It might cost a lot, but hey it would be worth it.

I dont know...believe it or not Halo was a huge bust for the mac ...the profit lines are so slim that pirated versions of halo almost destroyed the company who ported it

I always thought Macs were too difficult to customize, kinda like laptops ? Wrong impression ?

Evil M$ bot !

Kidding man, but I agree with many people here, if there was some decent games for Macs I would definitly buy them.

No not really...Apple keeps a strict policy on what hardware and software is used to keep all their products at top quality and for the mac to help keep security tight.

They ain't like the PC biz where you have different mobo makers and case companies.Apple is mainly a hardware company itself...think of it as a ferrari/aston martin/buggati of sorts in terms of how it is. (No I'm not talking about the speed.)

nope, you're half right...well you can swap hd and ram and other components but the cost is never worth it. Modern macs have the same parts as pcs...sata drives, ati and nvidia vid cards ...just a lot more expensive than the pc version as they're optomized to run on macs

That's exactly how I think of it, an all-Apple built PC. That's why I found it totally uncostomizable, after all there's only one manufacturer, 0 competition and they do what they want to do, you gotta eat it up.

I've always wanted to go Linux too, but I just can't handle the geekness of the Open-Source community :borg:
