reading this it's only for the console versions.

really could care less.

:p

Werent They re-releasing the PC versions Also, (another game of the year edition)?

am i the only one who's worried about EA publishing it, even though valve is good for patching shit, i'm terrified of anything by EA now after they released battlefield 2. i'm worried that EA might get impatient and push valves stuff out the door before it's ready.

They can't. Valve is in control.

Hardly.

Valve needs EA more than EA needs Valve.

You have that backwards; Valve is self-publishing and self funded. All EA is doing is things like compilations and console ports. Valve's #1 source of income is still going to be from the things they publish themselves.

Without EA, Valve is out of a distributer for HL2 console and of someone to handle the shovelware compilations; something other publishers would more than likely want. Without Valve, EA is out cold hard cash.

EA doesn't NEED Valve, but Valve needs EA even less.

I'm not saying Valve is dependant on EA, I'm just saying Valve would lose more than EA would if they dropped the deal. Valve needs a publisher, and EA (despite previous posts by me) is probably their best bet.

There would be a hundred publishers lined up to take Valve if in the event of a dispute with EA.

O....kay? Way to make a useful post, bitch :|

Anyways...whats EA gonna due to rush valve?
EA: We're gonna cut ur funding!!
Valve: You don't fund us retards.

EA: We're going to point it out in the Carefully worded contract that you have to listen to us or were gonna sue you..
Valve: Those lines don't exist.....retards..

EA: Well then we wont distribute your games!
Valve: Well then we will sue you for breaking the contract retard.

EA: Well...um... Gabe wanna sell valve to us?
Gabe: **** off.

EA: God damnit...

So true, so true Minerel. :D

/me can't stop laughing about that :D

noooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo

Sorry about that.
Anyway now that I have read all the pages I feel I should say something. EA killed the C&C series and that is MORE than enough reason for me to hate them. Also despite the rumoured VU delay problems, VU had with HL² I dont have a problem with them. Im not talking about the legal problems wich is a fact, but the rumours that VU was delaying the release of HL² to november to hijack the xmas sales, it would make me have a problem with them, should it be a fact and not a rumour, I will start hating them as well :) but never as much as EA.

Exact reason I hate them, they don't want me to have more reasons (more reasons = more customers lost). :p
Also, if you still play C&C Renegade, you'll notice they stopped the FDS serial distribution through them, have WOL ladder problems, etc.
Probably the biggest thing I hated about EA taking over was Generals. First they take Westwood over, then they try to make a game to add to the series and screw it up. I think EA had no idea of the history of the game and how it was supposed to be made (probably never even asked Joe about anything they weren't sure of, also pretty sure Joe is extremely mad about getting EA's help now).

Don't worry about EA trying to delay a game.

They always get them out before they're done.

Okay, I am a little too lazy to read through everyone's opinions, but here is what I posted on another board so people could understand the aggreement between EA & Valve:

EA is only distributing Valve games in STOREs, in no way is EA asorbing Valve and taking over productions. They are not even publishing Valve's games, just distributing them in stores and stores only. A hypothetical situation:

EA executive: ROFLs!1!1one, leik m4yb w3 culd hvea NUk3s en CS!
Valve: Uh, that doesnt sound too good to us...
EA executive: Fien, HAVEIT ur way fgget, we wunt distribuet yuo gaems in stores!!!
Valve: **** you, we have steam.
EA executive: WTF h4xs!!!!
