O.K, first id like to say that i considered putting this in general gaming, but this is virtual reality and not games.
wouldnt it be cool, if there were these two packs you could download (purely optional) for amazon.com, or some other website u could buy things from. The packs were:
a virtual reality download, where you create a character (only his image), then walk around a virtual store, browsing games and DVDs, then when you see one you like you could simply press a button and a huge data screen comes up, filling the screen with info. The simulation would have loads of graphis modes, meaning you could downlad a version that was exactly the same but had dynamic lighting and graphics. The VR could be updated pretty easily too, as you could A) DL all the data, then go offline and browse around with no loading, or B) DL all the new textures for the cases quickly, then when veiwing the info it loads like a website.
The second packis a MP version- and if its popular, hell maybe even a retail version would come out where theres a big map, you select where you want to go then walk along a street with all the shops you want to go in. Shops could create there own store and place advertisements around! then, when u pick something u want to buy u place it into a VR trolley and wheel it over to the checkout- it minimises the game and sends you to the website with your items.
They could put microphone usage on it and an easy mute system to stop spammers. they could even make a solo mode to stop intruders (maybe you want to buy something thats rather saucy and u dont want people in the store to see) and even something that makes you able to not just mute someone but make them dissappear enirely- meaning you simply cant interact or see them and walk straight through them.
Think of the potential? realistic sounds could be created, so as people walk away they become fainter. I know its an impossible task, but lets start a discussion about what we would like to see in it. Hey, they could even make it realistic so that you could push people over and there shopping spills! then u get arrested! w00t!!
plus, if people didnt like it they could just do it over the net normally
