Just fooling around wuth console, then the code "impulse 102" gave me a cool reply:)

Try it out , spawns a ***** ..lol

PS:you have to make cheats on , with "sv_cheats 1" in console first to get this cheat/egg to work.

:p

I know it's not an easter egg, but if you fly right out of the map when you are dead and then look to the left (if you are at the CT spawn facing down the runway) their is a square with a smaller square taken out of it. Fly over to it and it's a little village type thing, but i don't know what purpose it serves as the rest of the skybox is high above it :/

when your playing normaly you can see that town is actual around the map, you can best see this best at the T spawn if you stand on the boxes and look at the closed double doors in the back of the spawn.

Ugh, it's the skybox. Not an "Easter-Egg". It's the skybox, if you can use noclip to go in it people can see you up close and crap.

The headlight on the back of the white car has a hl logo.

Is that what he was talking about? I thought he meant this thing. I have no idea why they did this though.

It is, its part of the new skybox method. I not sure how it works but it must take that little city and rap it around the playable map to give a bigger feeling to the map.

Yeah that mini skybox is projected onto the skybox in the big map to make the skybox buildings move dynamically.

So far the only 'easter egg' i've seen is a minature valve logo on the rear bumper of the nackerd old van at the T spawn.

Hence why i said "I know it's not an easter egg", i was just interested what it was for

See that transparent square in the middle of the village? thats de_dust. the reast of the village is what sould be the skybox on the old CS but the new method is so set the map in the middle of this miniature scale village to give it depth.

Yay it's my skybox explanation spam! I think I should just put it on the web and post a link in my sig.... Nobody understands :(

The way a 3D skybox works is this: imagine you have your normal level laid out and below it, you lay out an unseen 16th scale model of a much larger map. In the very middle of this 16th scale map is a small square where your upper, real level exists. When you move around in the upper level (the only one the player ever sees) a camera on the 16th scale map follows you around in the scaled world. Whenever there is skybox (the horizon) to draw, it is rendered from the camera position on the lower map. What this does in this particular case is lets you put in 16th scale models of buildings etc, clouds whatever in your skybox map and have them render in 3d off in the distance of your playable map. In HL1 this was a very rough texture only and it was clear where the difference was between the actual level edge and the skybox (because the map was higher res than the skybox). In HL2 since the horizon is drawn in 3D, you can no longer tell where the end of the actual map is and where the skybox starts. Additionally there is "parallax" that is visible on buildings/models in the distance (in other words, if you move side to side, things closer to you move more than things farther away).

You can do the same thing vertically where the skybox draws building that are insanely tall, much taller than you'd want to actually render in high res as part of your map.

Spawns a s k u l l and it is a really boring impulse code.

Oh I done the skull thing before....yeah thats nothing amazing. Not good enough to be ****'d in anycase lol :s

sv_cheats 1
noclip

Then find the area outside the main map (left of ct spawn I think) If you get a mate to go there and stay put you'll eventually see him flying around. Then you just gotta coordinate him until he's right infront of ya and there you have your very own big friendly terrorist/ct :p

Some more funny piccys I took:

Took a while to perfect that one lol
