"Easter Egg" in cs_office

Just a funny little thing I found in cs_office a while back:

At the Terrorist spawn point, there's a little radio on the desk. If you get close enough, you can hear an announcer going through the office terrorist incident as the news.
The announcer's voice is that of Gabe Newell, who is the Co-Founder of VALVe.

Sorry if this is old news, but I just had to post it. :p
 
haha i never noticed that. i cant hear that over the gun shots
 
Well if you spawn at T and then run over there real quick you can hear it. :p
 
I was playing the other day as CT, the T was camping, so I sat around there waiting & moving around really slow (didn't want an easy win), then started hearing it and moved close so I could understand it. Really kinda nice if you're bored or waiting on campers to come after you IMO. ;)

Well, in 1.6 it is. Dont know about Source.
 
I think I noticed this my very first time playing the map...I'm surprised there's people who still haven't noticed :O

And no breakable wall in the source version, Xen.
 
I heard it on the UI list when i GCFscped my CSS folder.

There are 3 stations if im not wrong.

Also, in the Source version of de_chateau, when you're dead you can clip through the wall at the front door (not accessible while playing) and you can see a floor plan of the map labeled "de_chateau".
 
lol wtf ^ like 3 years after it was released and this is now being shared....

That was the main point of my post. I recognized his voice after watching a bunch of developer interviews with him.

And in Italy, you go to the highest roof when in Spectator mode, and when a round starts, you can hear a sheep baa-ing.
 
I remember hearing the radio in the beta (beta came out before HL2 so everyone was blowing PCs up and shooting crap, was really fun).

in the T spawn where the too computers are on the desk(it is not in the room where the projector is). the radio will be on the center of the desk.
 
There is also that one map where at CT spawn, if you noclip through a wall you see a big friggin huge wooden horse. Most everyone probably knows about it though. Dont ask me where it is. Cause i dont know.

Haha, that's pretty cool. I love all the attention to detail they paid for the CS maps, and little things they hid away.
 
in italy theres a secret room with a painting, and in assault theres a little compartment underground with a boot in it...

Ive heard all the stuff the guy in the radio says, never figured it was gabe though, doesnt sound like him imo, anyway I thought it was cool for the atmosphere. :)

I seem to remember that the beta only had one map: de_dust.
 
nope it had office also. i remember all of those pics with the high details of the inside of the pc.
