today thinking it would be a fine day to check out if EB (Electronic Boutique) had any info relating prices on half life 2 (i'm in australia btw)

apparently, the game is still due out on the 1st of november and it's going for $99.95 and they guy behind the counter had nfi about the 2-3 different versions of hl2 that are coming out. i dunno if should just get hte game via stream but i'm too young to get a credit card and i have a download limit with my ISP, once again i'm so disappointed in EB :( bloody retards...

any aus people here have any suggestions or news of shops that actually know that hl2 is coming out on the 30th, if so could you please list which ones (i.e. dicksmith, harvey, etc...)

i dunno aussie money from american money (diifference that it).

99$ australian is probably about 65$ us. Anyway i would not worry about game stores just yet they never have any idea till just a few days before they get it, till then they will just make stuff up. Even if they dont have it on the actual release day they will have it no more than a few days later. Unfortunately for a lot of us aussies, steam is out of the question with high broadband prices and low download limits

price isn't an issue, it's the fact that the dumbass behind the counter has no idea and he doesn't have any information what so ever about the game

I wouldn't trust game store clerks with an easybake oven.

for prices, try hitting places like target for the best when it comes out.

the guys at my local eb are assholes. i usaly go to target to get games now, eb can kiss my ass. much better prices

heres a net price (in aussie prices)

they havent been given the information by the publisher (sierra/vivendi) theres not much they can do about it.

They should just give a rough estimate IMO. Like, fall or winter.

I think Feb 2004 would be a better bet  :bounce: :cheese:

There is no such thing as "fall" in Australia so we wouldnt understand :cheese:

Heh, you don't gotta tell ME that. I work in Target, often over in the electronics section. In the year or so I've been there, I think I've seen all of ONE sign actually be correct, everything from a month early/late, to the wrong quarter. I SO wanted to take home the "Star Wars: Galaxies: Mid-December" header just to laugh, but the signing guy got to it and junked it before I could.

Tron 2.0 said "Late September." We don't even HAVE an HL2 flyer, which, not to sound dismissive of my company or anything, actually fills me with MORE hope ;)
