EB Games claims that HL2 ....

Headed down to EB Games(Toronto) today to pick up a copy of Age Of Myth Titans. On the way out I asked the store manager when they where expecting HF2 to be released. He told me that although there has been some confusion about this topic lately it has been officially announced that HF2 will be available on February 2004(at the moment this does not reflect what on EB's web page as of yet) . Did I miss some official posted announcement on this matter or something?

Vivendi indicated that Half-Life 2 has been pushed back to Q1 2004, but Valve has not commented on the matter and say they are still assessing things on their end before determining a release date.

From what I've seen and heard, you can't trust anything gamestores say and no there has not been any announcement except for the Vivendi one that says its not April 2004 but they said Valve didn't confirm this. We'll just need to wait and see.

Whatever. Gamestop used to say Feb. 2004. Then the false delay came from Vivdendi about April, everybody changed to april...Then it suddenly changed to Nov, even for the reluctant Gamestop. I think we'll see it this year. You're store manager is a fool, and I pitty him.

like everyone else has said, VALVe has not yet confirmed on what vivendi has/had said about the "hesitant" release date speculations... :/

you'll hear about it, though, for sure when anybody besides people at valve/vivendi find out.

if you look on the ebgames.com site they currently have HL2 shipping on 11/27/03. this is weird for a couple of reasons. one, that is thanksgiving. and two, it's a thursday. both of which make it seem an unlikely date. WTFK?

I definitely think it will be pushed back till 2004. If a game does not have a solid release date you can bet you won't see it any time soon.
