Eh two downloads @ 128/kbs on 512k?

The reason you were probably going so slow was probably due to the server had placed a restriction on how fast your download speeds are.

You cant actually test your download speed based upon file downloads, because large sites have variations in their load, speed, caps, etc. We've just been upgraded to 4mb! Except it makes no difference because I have to share this frickin connection with like 2 million people in the seattle area.

I really cannot understand what use 2MBit ADSL is, when you can only download 15GB a month?? :upstare:

2MBit = approx 250kb/s downstream, which is not too far off 1GB an hour download speed!

So, and this is no exaggeration, you could quite easily reach your monthly download allowance within the first day. And I believe they charge a fair bit per hour after that :frown:

Yeh I have unlimited access too, but I do know what you mean with downloading stuff at that speed, the amount of bandwidth you have left will quickly go.

I've got 5mbit downloads, but a 20-30 GB/month traffic limit . So I can't really take advantage of the speed too much.

I usally get around 20 kb/s with 256 ADSL. At most 50 kb/s.

Ive got uncapped 2mb adsl for £22 a month (www.plus.net). So glad i switched to them from ntl which is a complete joke of an isp. Worst company ive ever had to deal with by far.
