Eli's Lab Easter Egg?

When you first get to Black Mesa East and visit Eli in his lab, at one point, he asks you to have a look at some sort of "rock" in a test chamber. Now, it seems that you can rotate the rock in the lazer via setting two different dials.

My question is: Is there a special combination that unlocks an easter egg, or is this nothing at all?

I think its just something to mess with. Just to make the environment feel for interactive.

But I could be wrong. :E

I don't think there is anything special there. I messed with it for a while and nothing happened. I think it was just an interactive detail.

its a simulation of the black mesa resonance cascade - 3 beams, rock sample etc etc

Did anyone see the mini teleporter in either Dr Kleiner or Eli's lab (can't remember which) - it's over in the corner - you can stick a nearby radio looking device in one of the trays - flick the switch and it's teleported to the other - just about 50cm away - that was pretty cool

I stuck a computer monitor on the open pad, and it got stuck in the closed in one when I teleported it. That was good for a laugh. ;)

I was hoping to unlock some comment from Eli but I got nothin'...

Yea, I just played with it for a couple of minutes, but got nothing. I guess that even if there is something to unlock, it's not much.

in Eli lab, there is a mask of a creamator enemy (which was cut out :( ) in a glass jar.

That was a bugbait i thought, maybe wrong jar

If you get it to the right angles, another resonance cascade happens and unlocks the second secret half of the game.

That is the rock used for the Grav. Gun. for all the people wondering.

Why, that is the rock from Half Life that started this whole mess. :)

That's bull.

You can break the teleporter in Kleiner's lab.

It's hardly the same rock, but more than probably the same material yes.

Is that info from RtB? Or was it in the game somewhere, and I just missed it?

Reckon the Vorts can grow the stuff? Or did he rescue it from Black Mesa?

Now that I think about it there may very well be an easter egg in eli's lab, the area had an unusual sized load time, even with the all of the teleporting to diffrent area's on the map....

But I could be wrong.

Well, since he was near the sample when it all happened in the first place... I wouldn't be suprised if that was the rock.

All those who were near it had HEV suits on, I reckon it's too dangerous to touch in just a lab coat. And not even someone with that high education would be that stupid to go back in the test chamber after the resonance cascade. All of Xen is crowded with the stuff so why couldn't the Vorts bring it?

(If you meant mini-teleporter) Yes you can. :D

edit: ops! Feath. i misread our message.

You guys walk around in there for a bit? If you use certain stuff, like the billboard or the photo of Eli's family, he feeds you tidbits of info about what happened before black mesa.

Thats called sarcasm.

There is some good attention to detail in Eli's lab. The books on the bookshelf near the post-board are all science books and one of them is by Kleiner.

In kleiner's lab there are a lot of those stuff, like a drawing of Kleiner made by alyx when she was little, a pic of him with hair on the cover of popular scientist, a note to get watermelons for lamarr, som notes regarding the teleporter etc etc

See? There's something cool I missed. And some people say this game has no replay value...

Or if you follow mossman into her office and then walks out.
