Ninety percent. [br] [br] Ninety blooming percent. If I hadn’t been slowly sinking into a large comfy futon when I read those two wonderful digits, I’d have probably fallen out of my seat with excitement, laughing with childlike glee. Hell, if I wasn’t eating a French stick at the time, I’d have probably given into the urge to kiss my laptop screen, rather than spitting crumbs all over the keys. [br] [br] In case you’re wondering just why I’m so excited, you might want to head over to the Empires Mod website and see for yourself. Aww, hell, I’m not good with secrets, I’ll just tell you. Empires is almost finished. 90% finished, in fact, and here’s some wonderful screens to prove it: [br]

[br] [br] Skill selection screens. A fully working infantry HUD. Expansive maps. Just think, in a few weeks we could be playing this. In Empires, you don’t just fight on the frontlines- you build mighty bases, manufacture waves of armoured tanks, advance your military status, develop essential skills and fight alongside your comrades to claim victory for your team. It’s like Battlefield 2 for Half-Life. And it’s 90% complete. [br] [br] To see more in-game screens, including shots of each class skill sheet, visit the Empires Mod website here.

Interesting... Just look at that.

Thank you for the heads-up, Suicide.

I can't play left handed games, otherwise I would be very excited. :(

Holy SHIT! OMG! WTF! FYCKING CHEEN POOZ~!

WE NEED TO PAY FOR THIS!@>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>!

yea dispite being a lefty myself it's weird to look at.

congrats Krenzo, The Empires mod has taken many big steps since it's days as a battlefield 1942 mod.

I remember playing that mod when it came out for BF 1942. It was pretty enjoyable so I bet this release will probably be good aswell.

Wonderful. Now, as the old software development saying goes, for the final 90%.

Can't wait, I just hope we have some Aussie servers, and they make those weapons right-handed :p

HYPED
:O:O:O:O:O:O:O:O:O:O:O

I'd sell my soul to play that mod :O

This mod is, to say it with the words of a true counter-striker, teh pwnage 0mfg!!!11ONE

WOOT, LET'S FIGHT TO CONQUER THIS CANYON WHICH HAS NO STRATEGIC IMPORTANCE WHATSOEVER.

Nobody fights over the control of a lost canyon, and I'm aware that many games have these kind of maps (i.e.: Halo and Halo 2), but it's not a reason to do the same.

Other than that, the mod looks awesome.

You're fighting for the resource points, duh! Why else does anyone fight wars in the desert but for the resources (oil)?

The desert isn't a carved hole in the middle of nowhere, it's just sand dunes... And at least the desert is open, which makes a lot more sense.

Maps don't have to make sense - they just have to be fun. They also have to have boundaries.

Pardon my uninitiated state, but what exactly is this mod about? Are we talking present-day, near-future, far-future, past, what?

Ill put a door into the canyon, will that make it seem more real? :)
