For me, yes and no. There is no way I will be able to play HL2 if it comes out then, as I have my GCSE mock tests, which are quite imporant here in england, and I will be to busy doing revision ect. However by then I should have my 6600 GT, which I need to play HL2 on the max settings I want to play it on. Also A couple of weeks later the tests will be over and since there is only one week between there and chirstmas we wont be getting much homework so I can HL2 away all I want!
I will be sorely tempted to play it though, must stop myself or fail my exams!
You?

I feel your pain. My friend has made a resolution to buy HL2 and Halo 2 after his mocks, so that it doesn't distract his revision. Seriously though - your GCSEs are more important mate, than HL2. I suggest buying the game in Jan 2005 after you are done with them.

with game releases during gcse's i never found it too hard to revise. besides, u should be doing an hour AT MAX, then have a half hour break. do this until u have revised for around 3 hours every day, and u WILL be fine. dont let exams ruin your fun. revise during the day and play in the evening (ie after 'tea' - wtf is with that - or dinner).

im in 6th form and gcse mean **** all tbh. get c's and above and ull have no worries.

and theyre MOCKS!!!! ahahahaha.

november actually sux for me....weve waited far too long and i really want to give valve and vu a piece of my mind. who are they to hold the game back due to some petty fude????????? screw you guys lol

There's nothing wrong with buying games during revision time, just make sure that revision comes first. Remember, you don't have to do revision ALL day, and that spare time is easy to come by if you let yourself have it. A few hours of revision a day is more than enough. You just have to get the right balance. And remember, these are MOCKS, so it's ok to experiment with how much time you can revise and how much time you can set aside for other things.

Good time for me. The semester will be coming to an end around two weeks after its released and I dont have a problem waiting for two weeks when I have waited this long. Plus that gives me more time to upgrade.

whats a mock test?

It's effectively there to help teachers determine what skill level you should be tested at for the main thing, i.e. whether you'e suited for foundation, intermediate or higher exams.

I had the same with my exams and Ground Control 2 last year. On the first day of my exams GC2 was released. But I could resist the desire and 2 weeks after it was finished. Oh, that's what I had planned to do, but the day before the last day I 'accidentally' walked into a software shop and there it was. I played it for an hour, studied a few hours and then continued to play GC2. Of course I've passed my finals :D

Oh gawd, end of November. That would take too frickin' long.
Now they have taunted us with the reviews D:

don't worry.. hl2 won't cause you bad marks. as pureball has said, you will have enough time to play hl2 while you are revising for your mocks. during my igcse mock's i was playing ultima online and if i didn't play uo at all, i would have gone mad. ONLY revising is just as dangerous as not revising at all. but i'm not saying spend most of your time playing. a little time management... that's all you need.

Do a full day HL2 marathon then you can spend the rest of the time doing good revision instead of always thinking about people playing HL2 :p

I almost didn't prepare for my big test a school this summer, but passed with some of the highest grades in the school.
HL² must come out ASAP. Not any later.

I'm glad it comes out late november, because November 28th is my birthday.

I think I'll ask my parents for HL2 and get it the day it comes out and that'll be my gift

Heheh, I am gona have to NOT play HL2 when it comes out because I have several AS level resits in november...

God damn..... :( ;(

Don't worry to much about your MOCKS mate. They are not as big of a deal as you think they are. I failed most of my mocks but passed all but 1 of my GCSE's.

I SAY PLAY HL2!

But at least do a little revision :p

I only hope it is released on my five day weekend off work...we get one a month. Unfortunately if it comes out at the end of November I won't have much time to play.

Same. My birthday is November 30th.
I'll have my A-Level (A2) mocks in January, so I guess I'll be able to play HL2 for a few weeks before revision!

I would really rather it be out ASAP, cause I have finals around that time. No fun. On another note though Thanksgiving vacation for me is the 25+26 plus the weekend so if they release around that time it would be okay.

Money. It's perfect for Valve & Vivendi. Curiouse how things come up Aces For Valve.

same here, really bad time at november where i will have full of examens, they better release before the end of october where i will have a week of vacation

valve can associate the zombie with halloween
