Why do people complain about conflict? Conflict is a way of life. I cry everyday because of conflict but I want to fight as part of it. Why? because conflict is life. There will never be peace. The whole point of dying is dying in a history book. We kill each other to survive......And survival is everything.....God im confused, I wish there was a god to ask what to do.........

Edit: I should have put quotes around this, I found it in another messageboard. But I thought it was pretty profound, so I figured I would see what yall thought.

I don't think your cut out for killing people...

The only reason someone starts conflict is for respect unless there hunting lololololol

Many conflicts can be overcome by analysing what both parties want and reaching an agreement or by compromising.

The English language was not invented by God, nor is it a feature of the natural world. It was entirely invented by humans. However, if you choose a random sequence of letters, you get gobbeldygook. Even if you just mix the words wrong, you get something completely unintelligible.

Language came into being because of the desire and need to communicate. Does its "artificial" nature detract from its use? Is language *just* one man's opinion? Nope.

Neither does morality lose its meaning if we assume that God didn't write the "moral alphabet" when he created the world. Being a product of mankind does not render something usesless or "just a matter of opinion". Osama Bin Laden can say that killing innocents for his political ends is "good" all he wants, but it remains a tiny, unintelligible dialect of gobbeldygook to the rest of us.

And it's sad when we consult our own little black book of gobbeldygook to counter the gobbeldygook of their little black book. We end up throwing gobbeldygook at each other until the cows come home.

I say, let's cut the friggin' gobbeldygooking, and start developing a universal *godless* moral language that everyone can understand, since we can damn well be sure we're never going to agree on the nature of the divine and which moral language he/she/it fancies the most.
I found this on a message board somewhere and I really like the gobbeldygook analogy. Obiously this guy believes in god and the discussion was about world politics, but I believe the gobbeldygook theory applies to many conflicts, both political or personal.

You choose your battles, they come to you and line up against the wall. Then you decide which asshole to kick.

Walked out this mornin' and I wrote down this song, just can't remember who to send it to

I've seen fire and I've seen rain, I've seen sunny days that I thought would never end, I've seen lonely times when I could not find a friend. But I always thought that I'd see you again.

i think its stupid.

Which do you think is better, conflict or no-conflict?
For sure, no conflict is better. Though conflicts always appear in our life, it doesn't mean we have to accept them, or make a compromise. Instead of accepting our imperfect life, we should strive for better, strive for zero conflict, strive for Utopia, right? :)

The world should have less conflict, more sex

To war is better than to give up.

One who strives for peace by comprimising or running away from problems does not deserve peace.

Partly disagreed, compromise isn't always bad, and is left to the interpetation. We compromise every day between security and freedom. And sometimes a war no matter how justifyed can lead to a greater degeneration of your goal then a compromise would have.So in essance the war path would be the compromising path.

Um... yeah... forgot about security.

doesn't Korea have a compromised peace, that niether side will cross the 48th parallel?

Oh I wish. 38th.

And we are still technically at war (no peace treaty), its just a rest time during war.

A ceasefire then.

Also, people complaining about conflict is a way about life. Why do you complain about that? :p

Never give in — never, never, never, never, in nothing great or small, large or petty, never give in except to convictions of honour and good sense. Never yield to force; never yield to the apparently overwhelming might of the enemy. ~ Winston Churchill

Well whatever happens you are no1 at the end of the day, regardless of others suffering.
If conflict must happen to help myself, it's gonna happen regardless of the cost.

Humans are 100% selfish, do not attempt to disagree with me but peace is also an asset to oneself, it's just about what is more suited to you.

Mmmhm, I heard American troops stationed there still get paid as if a war is going on, rather than peace-time pay.

Why are there American troops there?

Because the war never ended, it's technically still going on.. and guess who was one of the main participants.

United Nations Command:

Conflict is neither good nor bad, if you ask me. There are upsides (fighting for a cause) and downsides (loss of life). Like everything, it's not an absolute- it's just part of life.

The only instance a compromise can be called "running away" is when your target is to win the conflict. If your target is another goal, winning the conflict in itself doesn't matter.

;)

The war is still going on, technically. Why do you think we have conscription? Even the 38th parellel is called the 'frontlines' or 'the far front'.

Can you imagine being the poor schuk from luxenbourg who has to announce:
"My country fully values the right of south korea to exist, and want to help fight fascism, thats why we're sending 44 troops to help....."
