On the enemies section, it mentions how the dropship has no weapon...well it shot me a fair few times

You've also forgot hoppers and Class II scanners.

Hoppers are equipment, I would have thought. They're not really sentient, are they? They're closer to exploding barrels than to a creature.

dropships themselves can't fire, the containers themselfves can tho, they have auto guns on the corners.

EVIL speaks the truth. I thought at first that it was the dropship itself shooting at me, and ducked out of the way whenever I saw one after that bit where they fly in those loads of Combine, until I realised that the gun is actually on the troop container.

I would occasionly destroy the troop container and then the dropship doesn't shoot. So I guess that EVIL is correct.
