oh no you migrated from the VU forum, may god have pity on all our souls.

didnt you ask this over there? and get an answer?

there will be decals on the player, they probably wont limp or stream blood, but a patch of blood might show up, along with the hit decal.

dude....in the words of fly rapper snoop dog DONT HATE THE PLAYA HATE THE GAME :borg:

ooo and could you add oozeing blood and limping and stuff in a mod??

you've already seen it, no?

I mean, you did play Half-Life.

it's been a while since i watched the movies of hl2, how did the zombies react to being attacked and chopped up?

they died...

jk :p

I didn't notice any jerking or the like whn they got shot or hit with the crow-bar(I really hope they put this in the final game)

they split into halves when they got chopped by the propeller...and a single one kept crawling aftr it's legs got blown off.

I know, that this question has been asked one mil times or so, but in which version of the large hl2 footage is that scene with the zombies and the propeller? i only have the 8-parts-version from...idk. is it the fileplanet one?

not so much zombies as with humans and aliens that have nerve systems that feel pain

-for limping jerking and what not

My biggest concern about the zombies was the "blood" sprites when F-man hitted them with his crowbar. It was the same sprite from HL1. I hope they will make some REAL blood splatters. Everyone knows that key to good action is in great particle effects.

zombies would still get jerked around from the force of impact...

OK if the zombies were cut in half and still had the ability to crawl that leads to the question, are they a special case? do they just have this one extra set of movements or will all monsters and people in the game react to damage?

On a slightly similar note, multiplayer games with physical damage to a character effecting their abilities has always been a problem in FPS games. It's been suggested many times but is usually dropped once it is found to irritate players more than increase the feel of realism.

It works well in games like mechwarrior or in flight sims though.

they're special cases...unless there are other creatures similar... I doubt you will see a combine soldier pulling that trick ;)

Could the fact that there wasn't much blood in the demo simply be due to the player selecting a low gore setting for the benifit of children watching the movie in the future?

ritcH

doubt it...what the zombies get chopped in half by the propeller...and the freedom fighter getting impald by the strider...lots of blood!

erm i suppose thats a possiblity but i think its not likely

The blood sprites might be Placeholders(from hl1) till valve will make new sprites.

been discussed already.

Does the damage differ depending where you shoot an enemy I dont mean things as obvious as head shots but if you were to shoot the thigh would it do more damage than if you shot him in his foot? If you were to shoot in two different places in his thigh would it differ since there are major arteries and such? Would certain alien enemies have weak spots?

veins are not a part of the damage system.. but i suspect there is regional damage to a degree.
