Predictions Please!

We can't lose this match, if we did we'd be out, and seriously disrespected.
That said though, Croatia played well against france, so theres a chance we may have a struggle today if they are on top form.

I'm going to be hopeful, and estimate a 2-1 victory for us.

we are going to hold a defense in hope of a draw... and we are going to LOSE!!! poor us, but i cant help feeling pesemistic...
 
well at least we haven't got kevin keegan in charge...

good thing about erikkson is that he doesn't bring that underachiever mentality that so many english managers do. he knows what it takes to win. i just hope he gets it right again. england need to finish top of the group if they want to play greece next round. if all we manage is a draw then it'll be portugal in the quarters..

2-2 is my (very tentative) prediction.

and france will lose 5-0 :p
 
Maybe the players are influenced by the stupid fans that always fight and get drunk and fight more. I'm just curious but why you always do that? God save the queen in case England loses.
 
Because some people who live in our country are morons :/ Unfortunately football seems to be one of their common interests.

There's a pub frequented by football nuts next door to my house. Every weekend there's fighting in the street :/ After the France match there was a riot with 400 people a few miles down the road.

Believe me when I say that England are more sick of its hooligans than any other country.
 
Im going to say 2-2. Michael Owen scoring first followed by Wayne Rooney.

It's only a few people though, and it seems to be getting better in recent years, since their passports have been taken off them.

Croatia were far better against France than we were :(

Fingers crossed for a draw - a win would be wonderful \o/
 
I reckon this game will end 2 - 0 to England (one of the goals being scored by Michael Owen to shut up all the people who think Rooney is the only England player who can score goals).

My full prediction - We'll go 2 - 0 up by half time (Owen 16" Rooney 38") and Sven will take Rooney off so he goes onto the Quarter final with a clean slate rather than the posibility of getting 2 yellows and missing the game (which would suck) :/
 
I was hoping to watch the Swe - Den match today... but its tomorrow... so ill watch this instead. The english dude on the street got the English flag ready i see :)

i remember Italy 0 - 0 England in Rome when Glen Hoddle was manager. that was not a boring 0-0 draw, far from it.

anyway, hopefully we'll see Steven Gerrard at his imperious best, and thrust england to a good win, or at least a draw with a good solid performance. come on england!
 
I'm in Canada and I can watch it, but I'm curious, is Euro 2004 being broadcasted in the US?

Alot of the fans just get annoyed by oposing fans. For example there have been many instances where fans of another team have made racist remarks about the England players, which of course got the England fans annoyed.

it isn't always the England fans who start it, quite the contrary in fact as other countries often make the first move by throwing insults. They then claim innocence as the English throw the first punches but they should know by now that many English people won't just stand by while they are being slandered.

As Farrow said, English fans are fond of fighting, but that doesn't really mean they start the fights. When Galatasary (sp?) and Manchester U battled out some important match in Copenhagen some years back, they trashed a big part of the central city. English guys were by far the most violent, but I'd imagine the Turks weren't angels or Allahs themselves... With that being said, I still think the English are just a wee bit touchy and/or drinks just a tad too much...

About the match, well... I think it was one sweet 1st Half. Gotta give it to the Croatians, good ****ing job. Hoping and knowing England will win though (and the match is in their favor now.)

Yeah perhaps you are right...Its really difficult to explain this to someone who isnt English. You have to be part of the culture to really understand. Most English people who try to explain either fail or just say its a small group of society who don't count, but it just isnt true. They aren't all people who go for the violence and not the game, its just that they like to defend their "honour" in a more physical way...and like you said, after a few too many drinks its a lot easier to punch someone in the face without thinking.
