env_fog_controller

anyone have any idea what it does? an if so could you write a how to? or even make a sample . vmf

it creates a smooth fog for your entire map that can help occlude geometry and models. you can adjust the color, the start distance, and end distance. all the options are self-explanatory in its properties.

just create one, set it to enable, leave the defaults, and see what happens. then tweak some variables, its really easy

It's a shame they can't do the sphere of influence wireframes on the fog_controller like some of the other entities, just to give an idea of the distances you've set, instead of it being guesswork.

Course would be even nicer if the 3D display showed fog too if you enabled it..
 
okay i got it working.. but i cant seem to make it "thicker" at all.. anyone know the answer to this one?

decrease the distances between start/end and make them lower (closer) to the player aswell
