Ep 1 Crashes on EVERY. DAMN. AUTO-SAVE.

Hi,

This started happening just as you go up the steps into the street. (After escaping the underground zombie part, where you have to get the wheel to open the gate.)

Since then, whenever an auto-save happens, if I haven't done a manual save more than about a minute before, the game quits to Windows with no error message.

I've got no problems with framerate, and I only get stutter for a few secs after an area loads.

I didn't have the problem with HL2 - only stutter and that was before I got my 8600GT (was on 6100 Onboard).

I have legal OEM Windows and legal Steam HL2 & Ep 1.

The first thing to do is disable auto-saving, which is done through a command line thing, let me see if I can lurk that out for you.

I see your using Vista, Im guessing thats it.

You could try more RAM, or finding a way to have Vista use less of it.
This is a long shot but how much HDD space do u have left?

Oh and ur sig is wrong, ur CRT screen is 0 MS (or at least almost).

yeah, i'm def upgrading to 2Gb within the week!

~161Gb HDD free space... hmmm that could be it! ^_^

oh, BTW, the 1ms isn't the response time, it's the http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vertical_blanking_interval
