I'm gonna have to agree that, while those people seem like they're having fun, they really don't seem coordinated at all.

I mean, I saw some people do some absolutely stupid things in regards to basic firing tactics. And all those vests/clothes seemed absolutely ridiculously excessive. Just wear jeans, boots, and a black shirt, ffs!

Despite, airsoft sounds hella fun and I can't wait to start a game with my friends.

You need vests etc. to carry equipment. Ten spare mags is not unusual, plus a pistol, spare batteries for rifles, gas for pistols etc...

This, and also for camouflage. And it just looks cool.

Airsoft does have, for most people, the thrill of shooting realistic looking weapons. Without big splatters of brightly colored paint on people. Paintball is less of a gunfight simulation, and that's fine.

It's funny how paintballers tend to have far more immature players like the above and almost ALWAYS start the flames in these threads.

I remain deeply unconvinced by arguments based upon the amount of pain one can take.
It's one thing to be be willing to experience pain as a part of what your sport entails, but it's quite another to claim that a sport is superior to another purely because it involves more pain.
That's just immature adolescent posturing. If you prefer paintball because being covered in bruises makes you seem manly, you're nothing more than a bloody fool.

No not at all, I quote your post to agree with you. Otherwise people might think I'm just rambling.

The great thing about our society is that it accomodates all kinds of different people, who may choose to do all kinds of different things with their lives.
The lack of appreciation between groups for this freedom undermines us all, and ultimately allows potentially controversial pastimes like paintball and airsoft to be marginalised or even criminalised.
In 1997, they came for the target shooters. But airsofters didn't care.
In 2007, they came for airsoft. And they nearly managed to kill it off. But paintballers didn't care.
What's next for the ban-stick, huh? Divide and conquer. Doesn't take a genius to figure it out.

I thought the purpose of airsoft was having fun, what I said is fun. Long drawn out searches and mini fire fights doesn't sound pulse-pounding.

Airsoft is like paintball is like hunting is like all other hick sports. Why not combine the two to produce something awesome? What keeps paintball guns from having explosive charges in metal jackets in clips?
