And then on the PC there will be a pack that's just Episode Two, Portal and Team Fortress 2, and we're still working out the pricing for that but it'll probably be somewhere in between Episode One [pricing] and full price.
Great. No, really. As much as I want to be playing Episode 2 this Christmas, I'm pleased Valve have pushed it back in that it means greater quality. Seeing those vids, I thought wow, they must be on track...wrong, but still, if the quality can only improve, who am I to argue?
too bad they didn't ask anything about the so-called "enhanced HL2"Guess it was true.

I do appreciate the Valve way is to iterate on the game, playtesting and playtesting until the game is unbelievably finely honed, and that it's totally unpredictable how long that process is going to take, but they really ought to just not even try and estimate how long it's going to take any more, and certainly not even try to give the public a release date.
I think the rule should be that a Valve release date is not believed until it's preloading on Steam.

I'm very reasonable and patient.
meh I dont believe it until valve makes it "Offical."
BTW If they where delaying it why would they show all these trailers & Spoilers this early on....
episodic gaming is pretty bloody pointless if you're only bringing out one a year. Why don't they just release them as expansion packs like normal people?
Doug said:We're working together with EA to extend the initial launch - we're working on the 360 version and the PC version, and we're collaborating with them and some of their studios on the PS3 version - to deliver everything at the same time.

This means no new PC games for me this christmas except maybe for Company of Heroes.
Originally it was going to be EP2, Supreme Commander, Spore and STALKER but now nothing.
looks like all I have is the Wii to look forward to then.
People are overreacting here.
You know what? I hate it when you're like this. All reasonable and patient and stuff.
Are you sure? I know they are coming along well but I didn't think they were anywhere near finishing yet. Last I heard they themselves couldn't guess when they would finish....We will all have Black Mesa: Source by Christmas time, I guarantee it.
Goddam VALVE And Their Goddam F***ing Release Dates. You Know What Stuff 'Em I'm Never Buying Another VALVE Product Again, no matter how awesome Epi2 is - that'll show them. :flame:..:flame:.
Happy Now?
You know what....I firmly believe if it is indeed true that EP2 will be delayed, IT ain't that bad & becides We will all have Black Mesa: Source by Christmas time, I guarantee it.
We will all be playing BM:S come late November or some time in December. So we lose one X-mas present, but then we gain one

A True Canadian said:Considering that Portal is just a puzzle game (an experimental test product if you will), and most of the mechanics appear to be completed, I hope that Valve will still release Portal by Christmas of 2006.
They could do a "Pre-Order Half-Life 2: Episode 2 on Steam and play Portal on Christmas Day" thing.
But this would only be possible if Portal is finished by then, and if Valve are confident that they can get the rest of Episode 2 out by February. However, this would also mean taking pre-orders roughly 3 months in advance to the forecasted February release date estimation. They would also probably have to make the pre-orders non-refundable to downloaders of Portal too, just so people don't cancel their Steam orders after they've finished the game.
Still it would be nice if this were to happen so that we can have something before the end of the year.
Just to re-iterate what I said in the news thread:
Has someone emailed valve to ask about this yet?
