Episode 2 Gameplay Footage

Zombies!!!
I like the fire effect but I still don't like the splatter effect.

Anyway, here are a few things I notice in zombie video:
- Somebody asks "Is that your boyfriend?", sounds like he is totally unaware of zombies outside.
- There is a loud thumping sound going throughout the video.
- Burning zombie torso disappears after it has been killed. (I hope this is just on consoles to free up memory or something)
- It says "???*??????" (transportation) on those two shipping containers, how convenient.
- Items like medpacks, ammo and batteries flash so they can be easily noticed (which is unrealistic but it's just for the consoles, I hope.)
- The player sucks at shooting with revolver, but it's on the console so I can't blame him.
- MOTION BLUR!!!

Tbh I dont like the infinite "Buster dispensers"

I would have prefered finding them in abandoned sheds.

But noooo... Gotta be newb-friendly :hmph:

It actually seems to be harder than HL2 and EP1 were. Read teamxbox preview.

I did not complain about the difficulty itself.

Read my post again.

Infinite buster dispensers interest me.

Because it implies that striders are going to come in numbers large enough for, say, two dozen to be insufficient.

I also like higher numbers of enemies. Always asked for more striders in HL2.

But did the rebels actually have time to build these buster slot machines right in the middle of the forest? I mean, wow.

Right, sorry.

Yeah that is really strange lol. Perhaps they prepared themselves for freeman's arrival. Because it seems to be like Gordon arrives = IMMINENT ATTACK

Buster dispensers means you're going to be charged by a whole load of Striders. I'm pretty sure it'd be abit lame for them to be few and far between. You only have 3 rocket rounds, as well as being charged with protecting the silo.

The strider busters are going to be fun. I'm gonna look like such a hardass killing a strider with my pistol :p

The flashing Items are just for the consoles, they did the same thing in HL2 for the regular x-box.

Also, MOTION BLUR!!!

How would you kill a strider with the crowbar, I think you need to shoot/hit the body/head of the strider.

Hack right through its goddamn leg and then shout TIMBER! as it falls over, crushing its hunter brethren. Then the neighbouring striders will give off a mourning wail for their fallen comrades, and there will be a moment of quiet remembrance in the middle of the battle.

Wow. Holy shit. I mean Jesus... :rolling:

The strider - hunter videos are just awesome. I just love the strider buster. Always liked trying to take out striders using grenades - so this will be even more fun. It will be just so cool tu just insanely run near a strider and then to toss the buster up it's chest and then just kaboom! - it explodes right in front on you and those three legs fall down livelesly. That is sooo cool. OMFG.:bounce:

I do wonders when climbing ontop of buildings and sheds.

Im 100% sure I can jump right on the striders head and make it go boom.

There has to be an achievement for setting off a strider buster by jumping on the strider's head and crowbaring it.

The buster looks like it glides and slightly homes in on the Strider. That'll certainly save me some headaches.

That might also explain how rebels with no gravity gun could use the thing effectively. I mean it would be odd if Magnusson made those just for me.

Wonder what happens if you attach it to something else, like a hunter or gunship or dropship.

I don't know if anyone said this but I wonder what Alyx said or what her reaction was when a rebel soldier said "Is that your boyfriend?"

Epic lulz.

Theres no proof that this was directed to alyx.

We dont even know if shes there in that video.

The strider buster is attached to the car in several videos. Apparently it's magnetic, and you can take it with you.

What is that large structure in the Gamespot videos where we're busting the striders?

I'm sorry, but I can't stand that new blood spray.

It totally is still 2d.

3d fire doesnt exist. Its all in your head.

I really like the fire in that. It'll make setting zombies on fire much more satisfying. All we need now is bigger explosions and the game is complete!

Old post I know, but maybe for higher difficulties they are less common/non-infinate.

Or you must run back to Kleiners lab and play to pacinco machines :rolling:

Seriously though, difficulty changes would be better if it included even the slightest different bits of criteria, not just more damage/less health.

HL1 had faster attacks for alien slaves and cloaking for fassn.

Id like some changes for HL2 hard, too. My best example is removing the fastzombie's "whining" between each attack. SLASH SLASH SLASH SLASH and so on.

Valve has already told us that difficulty setting aren't completely straightforward. If you listen to the Ep1 commentary, they specifically mention decreasing the energy orb lifetime as difficulty increases. (Meaning you have to get them to their slots ASAP.) Things like that.

It would be cool so see some inventive difficulty differences, however. Like really visible, 'holy shit' type stuff.

The new difficulty better involve AI gradients.
