I am amazed by your deciphering skills, but I'm a bit doubtful. Where in any of his post does he refer to Ep 3? Maybe if it was in the Ep 3 forum.

From what I read, he's asking whether you get Episode Two if you buy Episode One (you don't, though you can buy a 'Half-Life 2 Episode' pack), though I'm wondering if he's confused Half-Life 2 for 'Episode One' or Half-Life 1 and 2 as 'Episodes'. Episode Three doesn't come into it.

But from the way he's expecting 'Episode One' for Christmas, it seems pretty irrelevant. Not least because it's September 8th and I'm wondering why anyone has their Christmas presents planned this far in advance.

In an attempt to provide an actual solution:
If you haven't got any of the Half-Life 2 games, buy the Orange Box. If you have got some of them, consider getting it anyway, because it's dirt cheap and having two copies of the game will not make your life implode on itself. All the games can be purchased seperately via Steam, but you'll usually pay a premium for not bundling them together.
