Episode 2 Pistol Sounds

Ive put together a small .rar file containing the new reload sound from EP2 to work with HL2 and EP1 and was wondering where I stood on being able to distribute it.

Am I prevented from passing around a file from the game by Valve, or is it okay as long as it`s for Half Life and no money is made?

I know it isn`t hard to make the file work with the other games anyway, but some people might find it nice to have it so it can just be installed.

I don't think it's that big a deal, but you will get someone who will think what you are doing will cause the end of the world.

If you start putting it up on the interweb, I'll check it out. It's no biggie, look at the mods out there.

It has been reported that valve does not mind the use of episodic content in mods since they're technically part of the SDK.

Unless you're willing to sell it. Now that'd be bad.

Make an account, submit your addon, and add a short disclaimer telling people it is only legal to use with mods for Valve products.

Yeah, the old one only played the sound for the slide moving and not the clip being slammed in, they fixed this in EP2.
