Hello everyone,

Now that the Orange Box is out I keep wondering if the final installment of Half-Life, Episode 3, will be released for the Xbox 360, and possibly the PS3 if it the Orange Box will ever come out for that console.

The reason I ask this is because the only game I can think of for Xbox 360 that has a Singleplayer expansion through Xbox Live is Oblivion.

I haven't heard Valve comment on this and i keep wondering if they will provide the console gamers with the final part of the game since they've come this far with the Orange Box.

Your thoughts please, :)

It'll be released for consoles, yes, but the way in which it will be is unknown.

If they've brought out the other three games, then they will port it to 360.

Holy Crap Episode 3 Is The Last Half-life Game?!

Yeah well, Valve has been showing signs that Epsisode 3 will be the last Half-Life game as part of a trilogy, with all the 3 Episodes forming the third game, but it's only been hinted at, so nothing is offical yet.

Wether it's a trilogy or not doesn't really matter. Valve has more then enough way's to expand the Half-Life universe without telling the story of Gordon Freeman.

The original Half-Life had tons of side story expansions and Half-Life 2 also leaves more than enough room for that aswell and they'd be crazy if they didn't take advantage of this I personally hope that Valve will release a game / episode that covers the events of the 7 hour war.

I fear that Valve's support for the console expansion(s) depends heavily on the succes of the Orange Box. Now that most well known gamewebsites are running game of the year awards, in most cases the Oranage Box is one of the nominees, but on the console side gamers are giving credit to games like Halo 3 and Call of Duty 4.

I'f you ask me Half-Life 2 on it's own packs more quality and inovation than those two games put together, as much I regret to admit it, because I love the Halo Universe.

Anyway, I get the feeling that for the consoles the Orange Box isn't getting the attention and recognition by gamers it deservers, although the package has received nothing but positive acclaim by the critics.

Hopefully it's just me, but I really hope nothing gets in the way of a possible expansion for the consoles.

If they put half life 2 on the xbox and the orange box on the 360 then maybe yeas it'l be on a consol

If you read the Marc Laidlaw interview, Episode 3 is not the final installment to Half-Life. It's far from over and there's no way possible that the current conflict (humans vs. the Combine) could be resolved any time soon, humanity is just starting to glimpse the bigger picture. Becides, I'm sure they'll be some off-world battles with Gordon and Alyx tagging along.

As for the it being on the consoles, I have no doubts that it should come out to the Xbox 360. That was one of the reasons why I just got it. :D
