Episode One Installation Issues

Apologies if this is the wrong forum for this particular problem Im experiencing but its got to the stage where I am tearing my hair out to solve this particular problem.

I purchased Episode 1 just after it was released and have been trying to install it ever since with no such luck. The game installs fine but when I am trying to activate it through steam, it gets to about 56% and then it just doesnt progress any further than that.

Please help as I am really desperate to start playing!

maybe your internet is slow? so it might be taking quite a bit? im not sure.

hmm could be, i am on dialup, but i was getting a 5kb/s transfer rate steadily so it doesnt really explain why its happening. thanks for your help anyway though

5kb/s transfer rate might be it, because of the updates you might need to download, with that speed, it could have taken days.

if you have access to a computer with faster connection some place I believe you can activate there as it ties with your steam acount AFAIK...you'll still have to install the game + steam on that comp I think...

Try closing steam and deleting a file in the steam files called 'clientregistry.blob'. Steam will make a new one when you open it again. That usually gives steam a kick to work and hopefully push past 56%, no promises sadly, as i'm not entirely sure whats causing the problem.

I have a question............every time i get to chapter 2 my eyes(gordons) go black..........i can still see my HP and armor display but nothing else........................HELP ME PLZZZZZ!!!!!
