Werent they working on Episdode1 and 2 together?
paralell I mean,so we might get it earlier right? right? RIGHT?

Well the idea that they were making it parallel makes Christmas early enough.

Earlier than what? If they'd worked on them in sequence?

Well yes, obviously. But since they have not worked on them in sequence, you are not really getting it "earlier" than anything - it'll arrive at the same time in this universe that it always would have, because it was never developped serially.

I think they've pretty strongly intimated that the next episode should be out by the end of this year, which is not very far away at all. As to how confident they are on that, and whether it will slip or not, doesn't really have anything to do with whether it was developed in paralell or not.

Did anyone watch the video on Gamespot called "Episode One Interview 1" with Robin Walker. He talks about Episode 2 and 3 a bit saying why VALVe decided to do the whole episodic thing. What really caught my attention was when he says "...we chose to do an episodic trilogy rather than Half Life 3..."

Does this mean Episode 3 will be the end of Half Life? Or am I reading into his words a little too much? He could simply mean that they chose to do episodes before just taking 4+ years to make Half Life 3. Anway, listen to the interview and tell me your thoughts.

i read EP3 will be the last of it..

Early in the same interview he says that they intend to create a story arc across the three episodes from which they can build on ("move beyond"). So this could mean that they still plan to make a Half Life 3.

The Half Life series won't end here. There is still too much to tell in 10 hours.

well .. what usually tends to happen (I think) is everything will be quickly solved in 3 hours.
You could very well learn the whole story behind the GMan and the combine in 20 minutes (maybe he would narrate it to you) and then you go back in time to stop the original crystal experiment .. and that's it!

Just a possibility. :dork:

I couldve sworn I read somewhere episode 2 will come out in 6 months, sooo... Novemberish/Decemberish. Xmas sounds good to me. Pitty we gotta wait that long :(. I wanna see what happend to Alyx cause of the little clip at the end of episode 1. From what it seems, the combine are going to attempt another "7 Hour War", but this time Gordon is there to pwn em.

Essentially, HL2:Ep3 will end the current "story arc" in the HL universe. The question is does that mean that it is the end of the HL2 story arc and the next will be HL3 or just this phase of the HL2 story.

: + E = : E = :E

I think there will be a HL3. It would be stupid if Valve left it at episodes when they can mint money off a full sequel.
