I was looking at the Art and Design forum and this banner caught my eye.

Just a couple of questions:

What does this have to do with art?

Can you guys control what type of ads you get?

lol, it has the FM synth stuff for me almost all the time.
It's all context based, I think.
My eyes just slide over it.

Old blue style is the win.

But no, we can't control what banners appear. The google text ads are context sensitive, but the ones like the example (sponsored ads) just pop-up randomly.

Your point?

My point is that you got Old Blue Style. If one is to become a president one must understand one's voters.

The google ads pick up some strange context. Maybe if Danimal and I post enough (we've both been on way too much in the past 30 hours) then there will start being presidential campaign ads?

I have just noticed that the site the ad is promoting is Australian, so maybe it is strangely relevant to you as I've never seen that one.

I think there are different ads for different countries; I remember it being said offhandedly in one of those "URG TEH ADZ R BAD" topics. All I ever see in the US is the google text ads and maybe some other ones occasionally.

like others said, the ads can be easily influenced with what gets typed in a thread, spots specific words, how many, for how long and so on. Then starts changing the ads to fit. ;)

Goodnight.

So when it was like 1 am for me, it was what... early afternoon for you?

Don't forget that we're going to summer time now! Or winter time...

or just lock them after the purpose has been fufilled, because otherwise we just keep talking.

Being off topic is NOT a bad thing when the thread's been resolved! These forums are for interesting discussion, not forced discussion of the same thing! We can't always start a new thread for a different purpose because it ruins the flow of the topic!

Real-life conversations ALWAY change topics...

/rant
soz about that.

See this?

That's where your offtopic goes.

This is a forum for specific feedback/questions on the site. We'd rather it stayed that way.

:( but his question was answered...

** Ennui the post-whore slumps dejectedly and walks off.

Fine.

I suggest you bring back /me!
