Just bought the game, but can´t install because it gives an error 1335 (hl211cab is a corrupted file). I tried to google the problem, it seems to be an old problem, but nobody seems to have a working solution? Can someone please help?

It seems as if there's a solution to this:
Open the run dialog (Start menu -> Run), type msconfig and press enter.

Select the BOOT.ini tab and click the "Advanced Options" button.
Check the box saying "/MAXMEM=" and set it to the amount of ram you have or something below it.

After that's done, reboot and try to install, after that's done, do the above again but uncheck the "/MAXMEM=" checkbox and reboot.

It seems as if this problem might occur if you don't have an updated version of Steam too (if you already have it installed that is).

If you have a decent connection and a fair amount of patience you could also downloading the game through Steam by opening up the main window, then select the Games menu (not the My Games tab), press "Activate a product on Steam...", type your Half-Life 2 CD-key and then download the game.

Moved to the Valve Games Help forums.

i tried to download the game from steam but it said i needed to download half life from the real cd
:sniper: any help on how to do that with the 1335 error

What? You should be able to download it through Steam. You don't even need the CD at all.

Put your CD key from the CD box that Half-life came in. Once registered - it will download.
