If you have an xbox or ps2, and live near a target, go out and buy it now. It's fecking amazing. and only 15 dollars. easily my favorite sports game, and defintly worth 15 dollars. even if you're a madden fan, this is worth 15 dollars.

espn has always beaten madden in my book, i'm so pissed at people sometimes for not buying the better game of the bunch, especially since last year espn had online for x-box and ps2 while madden had it only for ps2

Madden beats ESPN hands down. It just owns the Football scene.

* ACLeroK212 successfully nails Shuzer in the back of the head with a football as he tries to run away.

I've seriously thought about buying this game today though. How's the gameplay? I hear everyone talking about the graphics and everything sounds really cool in the franchise mode, but when compared to madden, how does the game play?

well, one of the cool new aspects of the gameplay in the new espn game is that when your turning it's not like a smooth thing, there's actual weight shifting which makes it so that when you turn you lose a bit of speed, which makes it more realistic

Yah, I've been playing it for awhile now...
1) Yes, the graphics are teh pwn. The animations are the best i've seen in sports game ever. I mean... this morning I dumped a pass off to my RB, I juked around the first takle, stumbled over a guy on the groud, and then got another yard with two guys pulling me down. awsome.
2) I really like the gameplay. I love how you can use the right thumbstick now for jukes and hurdles and whatnot. And then there's first person football again, which, imo, is amazng fun in small doses. That's pretty intense.
3) The presentation is amazing. at half time and after the game chris berman runs down the highlights and stuff.... good times :)

And, if you have XBL, you can play in leauges and stuff.

IGN gave it a 9.4.

Picked it up yesterday then. Very, very cool, although I really hate the commentary. Especially the cutscenes and post game interviews. The half time show is a really cool idea although Berman's phrases are really generic and it gets kind of old after the first couple times. Other than that though, this game plays amazing. The character animations are just crazy smooth and so much more lifelike than Madden.

My only other complaint is the VIP challenge games. I tried playing against Steve-O and it lasted for 5 minutes before I was ready to torch my speakers for even thinking about playing another one of his annoying little catch phrases and between play commentary.
