I think I just got my 5th PM from these boards alone, and I know I will receive more, so I just thought I would let everyone know what is going on.

Our last host we had, was a personnal friend of mine. He offered us free hosting on his dedicated server which had been up for close to a year. Considering our other host had troubles with our MySQL database (basically, one day all of the hosted sites' forums couldn't find their database), I gladly accepted his offer. Now a few weeks later, I find out that the other co-owner of the dedicated server, which I have never met, decided to stop paying for the server, thus stopping all of it's services, and naturally our site.

We then quickly figured out what to do, because my friend said that he could not get in touch with the other co-owner. Considering they have known each other for over a year, he found it extremely wierd that his friend would not respond to any e-mail. He still has no response after this post, and we aren't sure if he is in the hospital, no internet, or worst-case scenario, dead.

My friend started discussions with the dedicated server company on how could they get their backups back. He decided that he would pay for the server, in his friends name (the server was also in his name, my friend sent the money to him each month) and so that is where we stand now. I paid $40 yesterday so that we could simply turn on the server, download our backups and then move them to our other hosting. My friend is waiting on them for them to give him an invoice number which he can include with his paypal transfer (or else what good is the money, if they don't know which server to turn on?)

We were hoping this weekend we could get the site back online, but unfortunately, they don't provide 24/7 support. They only do it during business days.

So I apologize from everyone on the team for the downtime, we've had a lot of it considering this is now our 5th host! (talk about bad luck, eh?)

We are still working through the magic of MSN Messenger, and we'll be back soon showing off our goodies! We have lots to show off!

Again, sorry for the downtime!

^^^ Sigh, why do I even bother to put the site considering it's done right now. lol :p

Good luck with getting it sorted - Eternal Silence is one of the very few mods that I'm looking forward to.

Yeah, same here. I wish we could have done more :(

Hope you get it all sorted :D

Good luck, I have to say Eternal Silence is among the modifications that have left a huge impact ever since I first heard about them, I'm greatly anticipating it. :)

Heh, seems like the HL2.net staff seems to like us :D We'll be sure to throw a few things your way when the time comes ;)

Chris: No problem at all, I completely understand :)

I might could be of some assistance. PM me if you are interested!

Well, we already have our new dedicated server purchased. We are just working on getting our backups back, so that we won't lost as much forum data. Maybe a day or so, instead of over a month.

Hey, in the meantime stop by IRC :D

Simply Click here to Connect!

Or, just point your IRC client to

Channel #ESMod

:)

We have some media that we were gearing up for release soon, so that's something to look forward for ;) We just need now to settle down in our new host once we get our backup, and then get to work, without having to work about these technicalities ;)

And we are back online folks :D Feel free to spam the forums to get things moving again

Sorry for the downtime!
