EU Wii Release :D

I was 5th in line for my Wii. They shop had 9 consoles. So w00t :D

Made me buya bundle though, and I don't want Red Steel or 4x4 Madness or whatever, so I'm going to try and take them back and do a straight swap for another game seeing as they're still sealed. I'll probably get Monkey Ball, but I don't know what else to get.

I already have Zelda, Rayman and Wii Play. If I can trade them both I'll get Monkey Ball. Perhaps I could get another controller or nunchuck. Maybe some Wii points? Any game recommendations?

Just went out and got mine and played it for six hours! Surprisingly the whole family really enjoys it! We only had one remote incident. We were playing Tennis, and my brother went to slam the ball and of course was a little too into it and smashed the remote into the overhead fan. I have to say, the controllers are very sturdy, all it came out with was a yellow mark across the home buttons.

Overall, I'm very happy with it.

We have ours, so addictive : o. Love the tennis and bowling with Wii sports.

I had my first proper Wii Sports session with friends yesterday and everyone had a great time. It's a fantastic game, and the best bundled software to come with a console since Super Mario world!

Has anyone else found the Mii creator to be suprisingly addictive? I'm churning out the little guys by the 100! Last night in Baseball, Jackie Chan smashed the ball staight into Hitler, who fumbled only for Borat to save the day and deny my mate 2 home runs :E

Lucky guy . Argos was able to get me one. I only pre-ordered about 2 weeks before launch and I got it midday Friday.

How many on this board have Wiis? If there is enough so we could list our Wii numbers for future reference?

You know, I just went and got mine from EB with no preorder, they had pleanty in stock, so why is everyone else having trouble getting theirs?

Also, is the shopping channel working in Australia yet? I try and connect, but it sits there saying 'connecting' and not doing anything. On the not of sharing Wii numbers... if enough people have one, seeing as wii are discussing it so much mabye wii should open a Wii board?

i got one on the day it came out even though i only pre-oredered it a week in advance, they had a spare. also they just phoned me to say they had it in the store to pick up, so i guess i could get two lol, not that i would. i might try and go and get my 'deposit' back though.

In other news, the new version of Animal Crossing for Wii will utilise your Mii character. Who didn't see that one coming?

And more excitingly, a new, Wii-specific Zelda has already been in development for about a year. Can't wait.

Curse you, Game! I wanted to play a Wii at the weekend. :(

Play.com are stupid. They are all over the place with such a simple task. They finally caught on to having the wrong release date down for the GC Zelda, so they've now changed it, only it says the 01/15/1990 now. :| Surely they haven't imputted it wrong, and if so... January? C'mon, if the Wii version can't sell out then surely the GC version is going to be stock. That's ridiculous.

I really hope it arrives this weekend on it's proper release date.

but they make far more wii versions because the gamecube version is laaaaaaaaaame.

So far i've been loving the Wii, but am already pissed off with Nintendo's usual treatement of europe. Our virtual console games come in 50hz only, have borders and are mostly 17 odd % slower than in the US or JPN. So not only will they look and play worse than the versions I already have on imported consoles, we're also limited to the games that made it to europe in the first place - no Sin and Punishment for those who missed it first time around. Surely the vc isthe perfect system for delivering the games pal owners had been screwed out of over the years, but noooooooooo.

There's also 2 games i'm after which aren't seeing the light of day at all over here! - Kororinpa and Super Swing Golf. This is very early days - there will be lots more where this came from.

I bloody knew this would happen, and am this close to selling my Wii on ebay to fund a US machine early next year.

i have to say sometimes the wii remote seems forced, in zelda sometimes it feels like a burden and an annoying way of having to control it.

things like the shield bash are good, you thrust the nunchuck forward to hit an enemy with your shield, but swiping the remote for a normal slash seems irritating when you could just puch a button. plus i think the fairy pointer is just lame, i don't like having what is essentially a mouse pointer constantly on the screen and doing nothing.
