Europe freezes over

This winter's been a bit of a pisstake really. The River Exe has been frozen over quite a bit these last few days, and the other day it didn't get above freezing all day long and -5 overnight. Devon is supposed to have a much milder climate than the rest of the UK, we don't even usually get frost for more than a handful of days a year.

On some of the really cold days lately, I start shivering within a couple of minutes on the bike even with all this winter kit and heated waistcoat. Had real difficulty actually being able to move my legs to put my feet down and stop at the motorway services coming back from London.

Fortunately we're apparently due for another searing hot summer ala 2003. I will definitely be having a party to celebrate the start of the warmer months. Winter is dreary and depressing.

"I will make you an offer you can't refuse"

http://www.adevarul.ro/articole/putin-romania-can-buy-russian-gas-without-intermediaries.html

Putin transmitted to the Romanian president, by means of a TVR reporter, an offer of collaboration: delivering Russian gas supplies directly to the Romanian state, so that it redelivers it to Ukraine.

Just saw this on the news, so far there hasn't been an official response, but from what I've seen they think Putin is joking.

Gay, I was really hoping for a nice warm mild summer.

Maybe I could adapt but it'd be nice if the UK could decide whether it wants to be Mediterranean or Baltic.

It's currently 68 F....tomorrow is 36F...

I wanted to wash my car tomorrow!!!!

Scrape your car clean with a chunk of ice.

Whilst you're in the part of the country with the mildest weather I'm in the part of the country with the worst weather! It seems to be a fact that the north-west has worse weather than anywhere else in England.

Yeah, well that's because you live in a different part of the world to us. If you lived here you'd think it cold.

Saw a -9 (c for the yanks) a few days back in the evening.

For the UK, thats record breaking cold.
