So how many of you actually enjoy listening to Evanescence songs?
And how many enjoyed the band before they became 'popular'? I personally did, and I do enjoy the band and their songs very much. Amy has an amazing voice, even when its not digitally altered(her live performances are great), and she's a hotty too.

I've always been one who, while i've enjoyed many different songs, haven't much cared for the bands of music. I'd like certain songs, but overall, didn't care for the bands or their other songs.

Evanescence is one exception for me. I like the band, think they're great, and don't think there's been a song they've done that I haven't enjoyed.

I also like the song Amy did with Seether, titled "Broken". Great song.

You can view some of their music videos for free here.

I highly reccomend My Immortal(This particular one inspires me greatly every time I hear it), and Everybody's Fool.

Also, "Broken" can be viewed here.... just click the one that says "Broken --- Featuring Amy Lee"

EDIT: Good example of her good singing voice without all the special effects, just watch the "Goind Under" Live performance on that launch.com website.

Amy is hot, but other than that I have no interest in the music, not enough rawk for me, plus their lyrics aren't that original.

Zeppelin > All

Yea I like them, theyre alright. I always get funny looks when I say that. The fact that Amy Lee is damn hot helps and I really liked Broken.

Some of the most painful noise I've ever subjected my ears to. Her voice has been known to actually induce vomiting

Thank you for your contribution. The exits are to your left and to your right. Don't let the door hit your ass on the way out.

i thought broken was shitty... the 2 bands just don't mix, i liked bring me to life
only good thing ever to be associated with the Daredevil movie, that Seether song on the soundtrack, Hang On, kicked ass too. Overall i give Evanescence the rating of: Bah...
they've made a few good songs, (i have the fallen album btw) but they arnt the big whoop their made out to be. :)

-BROKEN SUCKED
-BRING ME TO LIFE WAS SO LAME!
-IMMORTAL IS OK UNTIL THE METAL PART
-THE OTHER ONE SUCKED AS WELL

Rating = 2/5

Oh well, each to his own I guess. Heh.

-IMMORTAL IS OK UNTIL THE METAL PART

The original song doesn't contain that last bit.

the cover-version of korn's "thoughtless" is pretty good ...

... but only if you don't listen to the lyrics

"breathe no more" is one of my actual favourites as well

Hey, to each his own, you said it yourself.
You guys can sing praises, I can do the opposite

Heh. Well, certainly could have been more tasteful in the way you expressed you genuine, utter hatred for the stuff. lol

I can't stand her voice it's so loud that you can't even hear the other instruments...

I think its good agressive music. When I'm in that mood I'd sooner listen to Powerman 5k or Ministry, but Evenescence is good. She does have a killer voice.

I think people are just not used to a woman singing loud music. That agressive higher pitch can feel grating when you're not used to it, you know? In that way it reminds me of The Cranberries "Zombie"... a great, powerfull song that I really enjoy,. in small doses.

I guess i'm just different. I'm far more partial to women singers than guys, though there are a few male singer voices in bands I like though.

They started out as Christian rock. 'nuff said.

Eeeh, they're ok. She has a sweet voice but the band is lacking I thought.

Amy is quite hot...Seether are great (fair play to the main man...if you know seether, you know why) and 'broken' is a great song, with or without Amy Lee...

And yeah, Evanescence do have some good songs.

Ooh. That does hurt.

Raziaar, I know you're not too likely to take my opinion to heart, but check out a band called Lush,. especially the album Split. Awsome slow, loud, harmonic rock with beautiful female vocals. One of my fav bands.

yknow who else started as a christian band?! www.asilaydying.com !!! check em out. you decide if they are christian or not.

Evanescence didn't like it when they were classified as a Christian band. so I doubt they're classified as that any longer.

Indie rock rules. Indie pop is not so good. :D
Lush is definitly rock :dozey:

Thats Lush - Split

One of the best albums ever made.

I love the piano solo of My Immortal, I also used 'bring me to life' as backing music for a digital video project I did last year.

Good music.

Meh, I don-t find her atractive really. And their lyrics are quite boring.

:| Is this the "real English" you brits keep talking about?

Sorry but I gotta give the thumbs down to evanescence, after listening to amazing works of art such as demanufacture, obsolete and archetype by fear factory I am hard to impress when it comes to rock/metal music.

No its the "I've been playing too much Vampire the Maskerade :Bloodlines and I've forgotten how to type."

Great game, going to turn into one of those underrated classics I reckon.

For some reason, I don't like Vampire the masquerade that much. I was really looking forward to the game, but the combat in it is so clunky and unenjoyable, it ruined the experience for me. Plus, its just not what I imigined it would be, back from my old days of playing vampire the masquerade tabletop rpg.

Nothing wrong with Christian music, as long as it sounds good.
I'm not at all religious, by the way
Check out Jon-Rae Fletcher for some cool acoustic indie stuff with Christian lyrics (particularly "Two Hands By Townes VanZandt" and "Nickle And Dime/Waste Of Time")
Also, indie rock and indie pop are often very much the same thing (yes, some things are obviously poppier than others, but they're pretty much the exact same thing)

Christian music is usually wretched filth. But there are some exceptions like switchfoot, a band which actually isnt bad.
