Well fellas, your resident hippie pot-smoking moderator got himself busted yesterday, and charged with three misdemeanors: possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, and resisting a public officer. I'll tell the story later in this thread, since I'm about to be off to class, but it includes handcuffs, a ride in a squad car, an assault rifle being pointed at my face, an epic chase through the woods, and eight police officers.

So, Halflife2.net, have you ever been arrested? If so, tell us the story.

I have not been arrested. But I have been forced out of a vehicle by about 30 armed police officers pointing shotguns and pistols at the vehicle.

yes, at least three times that I can recall and in two different countries

Wow. What kind of sentencing does that entail in North Carolina? (I assume not much as you're currently free.)

And no, never arrested.

When I was like 10 I stole a purse with some friends and got caught - I got to ride in the police car :D

Other than that, it's the usual 'cops - run!'

Got busted back in sophomore year of high school.
There was a random locker sweep and they found a roach in my pack of gum, jesus christ, they made my life a living hell.
First: Drug tested the same day; I had just smoked a few blunts with my boys a few days before so I was pretty much ****ed.
Second: Got suspended for a week and a half, while they figured out what to do with me... they kept waving an expulsion in my face.
Luckily, I was an excellent student so I had that going for me.
They took the expulsion off the table and made me come back to the school every morning during the weekends to clean for 2 months.

And after that I basically got a random drug test at the school every month until I graduated.

Yeah, never brought drugs to school ever again basically.

I got busted at gun point. Illegal wepon or something like that. No charges though. But a shit load of cops showed up.
I also been taken in for beeing drunk.

i really wish people would stop calling marijuana a drug

I really wish people would stop being so anal about what other people call things.

Leave your drug talk out of these threads!

Also, no. I'm a good boy, I SWEAR!

lmao, at my school literally 95% (no exaggeration) smokes. I'm not joking - atleast 3 people get caught each day, and all they get is 5 days of 1 hour drug counciling. It's even confidential, no parents are told, no one else at all. You're school is strict! (btw don't smoke at school, if you do you're a dumbass)

Wow dude that sucks. Get a good lawyer. Having to pay the lawyer sucks but he will get you off virtually scott free. I was never busted but my old roomate was driving with a few roaches in the car. She got a good lawyer and only had to attend a couple rehab meetings, didn't serve any time and didn't get probation.

He's actually an asshole.

Edit: @Rizzo

...

I've been picked up by the police twice. Once it was apparently because some one reported that they saw suspicious people in this one part of town and I ended up going through it as the police showed up. The other time the cop thought I was involved in a fight that happened near me.

Basically free rides home.

No, the most trouble I got was for having sex in a car when I was 15 D:

The cops really messed with us, acted like we were dead meat. Man I was scared shitless.
They let us go.

I have, in the past, evaded police officers.

That sucks, Ennui D:

So far I've been lucky. I've been pulled over twice, but no tickets. I really speed like you wouldn't believe sometimes though. Double over on rural roads=jail time if I get caught.

I once got a ride in a police car home when me and my friend were caught on a building site when I was younger.

Aside from that, nope.

Shoulda probably got arrested when that same friend's cousin broke into an apartment and started nicking stuff while we watched, but oh well, the folly of youth, it was in a shitty area cops don't care about anyway.

I've never ever talked to a police officer for any exciting reason.

Nope never. I have been in a couple of situations where I could / should have been arrested, but I wasn't.
The time I came closest was while backpacking in Thailand. The owner of the bungalow operation I was staying at (named, quite aptly, Don), was busted for dealing weed. The police came with guns drawn, and while scruffy backpackers fled to their huts to get rid of their stash, the cops went like a beeline for Don. Some of Don's personnel came to help him and the arguing mob transformed into a big melee, with fists flying and a couple of shots being fired (no one got hit, luckily). It ended in Don being manhandled into a car, so he could be transported to a police station.
Drug raids are quite common in Thailand and usually they involve full moon parties where the police can easily get their yearly quota of drug busts. That the cops were just after Don, was lucky since basically every guest staying there was a pothead. Two or three cops in plainclothes made a visit earlier in the day and I am quite sure one of 'em saw me rolling a joint. If they had wanted to my trip would probably have ended in a putrid police cell where the guards would squash every last dollar from me.
The actual ending was rather more upbeat though. Don was married to a European woman who was the only English speaker on the premises. She went right after him to try and get him released again, so about 100 foreigners now had to cope with a Thai-speaking crew. An Ozzie girl and I decided to step up to the occasion and we tried to translate orders for the rest of the day which turned out to be a lot of fun. The happy end was complete when Don arrived late at night. As it turned out the police didn't find enough evidence to press charges and he was released again (although I later heard that a friend of his uncle was a police 'general' in Bangkok who helped to free him).
Man, I need to get on the road again. Writing this gave me itchy feet.

Never. I had to make a court appearance for a $20 skateboarding ticket once in high school. I was riding on the sidewalk at 11:00p on a Sunday night in front of the high school - I'm still not exactly sure if the judge was joking or not when he said, "...so, do you realize what you've done"?

I was pretty naughty as a teenager.

5 arrests - 3 for possesion, one for actual bodily harm, and one for causing criminal damage. And before anyone starts to think i'm a thug, the abh was for shooting a builder in the arse with an air rifle while heavily under the influence. He was a **** to me and my friends and had it coming. You'll never see someone stand up faster

The fuzz showed up at my house after I rolled a friends house. I had some amateur nubs with me that wanted to stay and ring the doorbell. So I guess in that time someone drove by and wrote my tag down.

I should left em. But I didn't get arrested.

lol , ah darkness the great equalizer

No man, those eyes were so big that they would probably reflect every little spec of light in the room. And then they'd still be staring at you. :rolling:

Never really done anything that would require the police to show up. I do the usual public nuisance stuff when I'm drunk, but I suppose nobody gives a toss.

Never arrested, but I did get stopped a couple of months ago and, unfortunately, filmed for Road Wars. Watch this space...
