Ever been arrested?

I got raided a year and a half ago by the police and the BPA for apparently being a massive leak in a record company letting out early albums onto the internet. How I laughed six months later when they had to give us back our computers and let me off with a caution (I had upped an album using a torrent to a private site, so the caution was warranted) with the news a couple of months later that one of the blokes involved had lost his job, probably due to the expense of them having to go to the US to get my details from my ISP, which turned out to be a waste of time on their part.

Never arrested. My only interactions with the police:

1) When caught crossing the street not using the crosswalk. I crossed a 3-lane street and was waiting on a strip of grass between a 3-lane going in the opposite direction, when the squad car rolled behind me and the cop invited me inside and drove me to the other side. Then he checked me in the database and wrote me a ticket. I was slightly pissed, cause lots of students from my uni cross the street in the same place everyday with no problem. Even as the cop was hunched over his notepad, a girl crossed the street behind his car. Ffs.

2) When I got pulled over. I was turning right into a main street and there was a squad car turning left into the same street. Since I had the right of way, I began driving down that street with the squad car behind me. The speed limit was 40kph, but it was about 9pm and there was no one else on the street in front of me (even during the day nobody drives 40kph there). However, with a squad car almost scraping the back of my car, with no means of legally overtaking me, I had to stick to the limit. I guess I was driving suspiciously slow and thats why they did a "routine" check on me.

Never been arrested...

I got cautioned and read my rights at a car accident that was deemed by the courts to be NOT my fault and the OTHER drivers fault....

Also i might add that the other driver did not get read her rights and got off on account of that...

Major screw up by the fuzz... their defence was "i was the younger driver and it was more likley my fault"... arg

Nope. Just 2 tickets, for running a red light and speeding, respectively.

I also had a security guard wave his finger at me sternly after I threw a piece of ice onto an ice hockey rink.

Yeah, I'm hardcore.

I've never even had to talk to a cop. Except for a family friend who happened to be one, and I only talked to him when he was off duty. I stay pretty low under the radar.

As for Ennui, man. I always figured you'd get caught. But I didnt think you'd be the type to run from the cops. Bad idea. Very bad idea.

No, my only encounter with them have been when I've explained to police officers that I'm sober enough to get home on my own, or that I will promise to take care of a drunk friend. I have also gotten warnings twice when being given a lift on friends' bikes.

I was almost carted away by these rough looking Eygptian officers outside of Cairo museum on a holiday a while back, for no reason i might add, the tour guide had to bail me out. I think they thought I was a terrorist or something :s

Never arrested, but I did get stopped a couple of months ago and, unfortunately, filmed for Road Wars. Watch this space...
Brilliant, I watch that show on Sky one occasionally. What happened? I can't wait to see it :)

Never got arrested. Got in trouble when me and my friend were prank calling people and left a message on some random guy's phone saying thing like "we're going to kill your family" and "we know your adress"...we were in grade 1, too.

I got talked to by the park police at Cedar Point. Am I cool yet?

Arrested five times I think, convicted twice. Gotten away from heat alot of times. Never been busted on drugs.

Well fellas, your resident hippie pot-smoking moderator got himself busted yesterday, and charged with three misdemeanors: possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, and resisting a public officer. I'll tell the story later in this thread, since I'm about to be off to class, but it includes handcuffs, a ride in a squad car, an assault rifle being pointed at my face, an epic chase through the woods, and eight police officers.

That sucks man. But it sounds like you made the pigs work for ya, good going. Assault rifle? Holy ****. FFL!

No, you have to be charged with rape/murder and be sentenced to life in a low security prison to attain cool status.

Dont you have to consent to being shown on the show? If its so unfortunate, why sign to them the right to show it?

I'm about to be wanted on every continent including Antarctica for murdering every one of you god damn pieces of arthropod SHIT. Seriously I hate each and every single one of you and wish I could have you all lined up in front of me so I could have the pleasure of individually disemboweling, maiming, burning, raping, torturing, mutilating, dismembering and shitting all over your corpses.

God ****ing damn it. **** you all.

You're scaring me Willie.

Petition to get Willie thrown into an institution?

I brought fireworks into my country once, where it's banned. Got fine 1000 Dollars pretty much it, and my parent's screwed me over...

waits for ennui, where the hell are you, I'M dying to hear your story

Been arrested for being drunk and disorderly. Didn't help that i threw up on the officer.

Never been arrested, but the police phoned my cellphone thinking I was someone else who was wanted for theft

Was a weird experience

I've done some things, man. Things you wouldn't believe. The stuff I was involved in. The stuff I did. You wouldn't believe it, man.
They held me for seven years in nam. They tortured me. I still shake at night, man. I did some stuff. I saw some things.

I picked up a lady-boy on the wrong street...

I got arrested at a Buffalo Bills game and was being held in the Stadium brig until I acted even worse because of me being drunk and then got sent and slept in the Erie County Holding Center downtown. It was really scary because they took my sweatshirt from me and it was very cold on the floor. I also was in the same cell of a guy my age who murdered someone about 3 hours previously. A lot of the guys would probably make me a bitch in a heartbeat. I was the smallest guy in the cell. The food sucked, the toilets were nasty and everything about the place was horrible. It has changed the way I looked at life and I will never get drunk in public again. In fact that was last time I ever got drunk

Farrowlesparrow, if thats true, I feel sorry for you but cant help but laugh.

Details?

You've got a weird attitude towards cops, man.

So what did you get arrrested for?

Ive had tickets for riding through a red light on a bike, alot of tickets for riding without lights while its dark... tickets for riding my bike on the pavement, riding my bike under central station.... arg all of them were really cheap.

Another time i wanted to spray grafitti on my school at night with like 8 friends orso, but we all went to a party before we set out to do it and all got shitfaced... then at like 4 AM we climed over the fence only to be order to clime back minutes later by about 20-30 police officers in 14 police cars...
we spent the night in a cell, but got given free warm chocolat and koffie and bread with peanutbutter (yeeey!). Oh and a fine for climing over a fence (15 euro orso).
(thank god we didnt start painting directly...)

Fun times.

No. The cameraman gets out of the car at the same time as the rozzers and starts filming. You get no say in the matter at all. I did phone up the series producer and give him a piece of my mind, he was a right arrogant tosser the first time I spoke to him and basically said they can film whatever they like in a public place (which apparently includes the back of a police car), it's tough shit. I went and looked up the broadcasting code of conduct and hit him with that, he STFU then.

It may or may not get shown, but all I can do is complain to the regulator if I don't like what they show (which I have threatened to do). You can't stop them broadcasting it.

Brilliant, I watch that show on Sky one occasionally. What happened? I can't wait to see it :)

I was coming back from town (Exeter city centre if you've been watching the new series...) and ended up stuck behind this police car driving like a total ****ing granny. Like 20mph max in a 30mph zone, slowing down to less than 5mph to navigate a traffic-free mini-roundabout. I thought he was taking the piss, and trying to get me to hoon it past him so he could pull me (I would have done exactly that if it wasn't a police car).

So I waited until he got stuck at a red light and filtered up next to him (on a bike remember), when the lights went green I pulled away first. On come the blue lights...he clearly just wanted some footage, probably thought ooh a bike in January, don't see that very often. Their other favourite trick is tailgating you in unmarked cars to get you to speed up so they can give you a ticket.

He was all very amicable, apparently just wanted to let me know that it's illegal to overtake on zigzag lines (evidently the person who wrote this law did not have filtering bikes in mind). Then he discovered my tax disc's expired, which is due to the DVLA ****ing up and sending my tax disc to the wrong person who sent it in for a refund. I refused on principle to buy another one before they gave me the money back (the DVLA are utter scamming twunts, if you ever have to deal with them, send everything recorded delivery and keep a copy of all correspondence). Still gave me a ?60 fine for no tax. And made a big song and dance of "checking my bike for roadworthiness" for the cameras, which took him about 15 minutes.

You can tell that there's no real crime in Devon & Cornwall, because the police go looking for things that they ignore every day in London!

I would like to say something, but then ennui would ban me.

You gotta finish your story, Ennui! Don't leave us hangin', haha.

I was once questioned by the police for moving a rock :|

Where is Darkedge when you need him, he was arrested recently for getting into a fight.

But nope, I've never been arrested.

Some 6 years back I was arrested because I was drunk and underage (just standing and waiting for a taxi to go home, assholes just stuck breathalyzers to our faces ). My brother had the same shit as well, but he is 3 years older than me and only he got a minor fine. A few months ago I got a minor fine because I didn't have a "beginner's driver mark"(just a damn maple leaf picture with a white background) ,there need to be 2 in the car, I only had one. I'm hoping not to give any more money to the state through fines, with all this recession and shit.

law breaking shennanigans

dude was that also you in the news who got clocked doing over a ton between Newton and Teignmouth?

btw, when are the devon road wars on tv? they still all seem to be the london ones on sky 1...

Here's what appeared in the UNC campus newspaper today in the police log (I'm Chris). I shortened the names to make it less easy to google my crimes but other than that this is what it says.

-Four UNC students were arrested after running from police, according to Chapel Hill reports.

When police saw five people on a bridge on Battle Creek Trail, four attempted to run, police say.

Mark, 18, was found with pills which later tested positive for methamphetamine, police say. He is the only of the group facing a felony charge, reports state.

Will, 20, and Chris, 19, both face misdemeanor charges of possession of marijuana, drug paraphernalia and resisting arrest.

A fourth man, Sam, 20, was charged with resisting arrest, reports state. The person who did not run was not charged with a crime.

Police had received a report of possible gunshots and found fire crackers on the scene, police say.

Mark was taken to Orange County Jail in lieu of $5,000 secured bail. He was expected in court Tuesday.

The full story is much more interesting, and I will post it soon, but I have to clean up the post about it I made on Het because this forum is public/searchable and I don't want to say anything that will incriminate my friends. Also, Mark just got out of jail about a half hour ago :)

gl :)

Play the young kid with a promising future card if it comes to it.

so how much god's green herb of plastic-fantastic mother nature did you have on you Ennui?

a tiny, tiny amount, not more than half a gram (bowlpack or two). it was really good weed though, I was sad to see them take it :(

unozero: yes, our justice system is stupid, i am a moron, these are the two things i learned
