I'm a really emotional guy and the girls love it when they see me cry after watching a movie.
*Makes some notes of this* Thanks

What about the opposite end of the spectrum. Has anyone ever been overcome with joy during a movie?

At the end of Shawshank Redemption I stood up out of my seat and shouted "YEAH!" and laughed hysterically :D (this wasn't in a theatre btw)

I voted hmm maybe because I had a huge lump in my throat and watery eyes during schindlers list, I didn't make any noise though

I cried when I was watching Farenhiet 9/11 during the scenes from iraq showing all the injured and dead, and the soldiers in the hospitals, and when the lady was reading the note her son wrote to her before he was killed.

I'm pathetic I know, but real life violence and seeing people hurt just makes me sad.

Life is Beautiful:

Roberto Benini being shot by the soldier after you thought he was going to make it ...seconds after his son runs to safety

Cow at My table (documentary)

I couldnt watch all of this movie ...far too graphic when showing the disgusting and inhumane practices of slaughterhouses

Well, there are your standard sad moments in movies like Gladiator, Saving Private Ryan, the Last Samurai, and Ladder 49. In those cases I can hold the liquid in (or at least keep it down to just a tear or two) pretty easily. They are harder to identify with, the character is strong... and it's usually partially their own fault.

Then, there are movies with real suffering or still fictional suffering of innocent characters... like Fahrenheit 9/11 and Forrest Gump (respectively). Those are a bit harder to control. I can't stop the tears at that point, but I can easily keep from getting to the point of having a runny nose and/or irritating my eyes. (EDIT: I almost forgot about Life is Beautiful! It combined real events and innocence. That is probably one of my 5 favorite movies of all time.)

Finally, there are the movies that you are extra-specially connected to because of things that have happened in your life... or because you can identify very strongly with a specific character. With those, you can try to hold it in... but it's useless. You'll just look even more awkward if you try to act cool. For me, Garden State has been the only movie that I can remember getting me to that level. I could relate so well to the characters. I knew how they felt. I went through some of the same problems. It brought up quite a few sad memories. It was fictional... and yet... because of the connections it felt more real even than a (semi-)documentary like Fahrenheit 9/11.

I voted maybe, because there are times when I feel it welling up in my eyes.

Oh and mullinator, girls like lots of things...some like a masculine man :p

Cool Runnings!

Oh, and Transformers: The Movie.

PRIIIIIIIIIIMMMMEEE ;(

I get the best of both worlds, I emanate a masculine attitude most of the time and then I cry like a baby when watching some movies.

They find it especially cute when they see your trying to hide your crying too. :E

EDIT: I forgot to add Transformers to my list as well. But thats not so bad because I know what happens later in the series.

I was 9 or 10, i saw IT, scared me to the point of crying

Yeah, there's a difference between sensitive and effeminate. If they wanted a girlfriend they would be lesbians. :p

American History X was pretty close. That's about it.

Oh, and Transformers...

i like mullinator's style. i'm pretty masculine with most things, but some movies really tug at the heart. for me, movies such as:

braveheart
saving private ryan
last of the mohicans
meet joe black
green mile
life is beautiful
gladiator

and the one movie that makes me cry more than any other both out of sadness and joy:

What Dreams May Come

beautiful beautiful movie. wow. not watching this one again until i find the woman of my dreams.

the last movie i that brought me to tears was 25th hour... Havent seen and other that found it that emotional but it was something special about it

This thread is only on page2 so its not a bad case of bumping :p

I voted hmm...maybe. I don't break down in tears just a few tears roll down my cheeks. A few movies that do that to me were We Were Soldiers, AI and Armageddon although this one made me really cry ;( just when you think his future son-in law is gunna die he takes the roll and by then eyes are welled up then the Aerosmith (or the original) song (I Dont Wanna Miss A Thing) comes on and i just could'nt contain it any longer.....the worst is that song starts on the ending credits and thats when everyone watching it gets up or the lights turn on  Bastard.

Im very surprised at the amount of people who have cried.. assuming theyre all telling the truth

I cried when I was watching Star Wars: Episode II.
When Anakin's mother died right in front of him
, that's when I cried.

I never have, but I had a friend who laughed thru the whole end of Titanic, chicks hated him after that.

I thought you were going so say because of how horrible it was done, but nevermind. Besides, he had the same look on his face when he told padme he loved her.

ya i cried when i was like 10 or 11 and i saw this movie called Far From Home and this dog was crossing on a log over this huge ravine and it falls off into the raging river below... it somehow survives but i remember crying every time i saw it...

-merc

I almost cried during 'Sunshine of a spotless mind'...i got teary eyed, i've not properly cried during a film yet. atleast not in public, as far as i can remember.

I cried when I watched The Last Samurai. The part were they're on the ground together in the end. I've cried during many movies, don't remember them though.

I get tearful during the Ents go to war scene in Two Towers.. powerful scene.

And some of the other scenes in those movies.. I just consider it a well made movie if it can do something like that.

I've never cried during a film but my eyes have watered slightly. For example, at the end of Terminator 2 when Arnie is lowered down and in The Last Samurai when Katsumotu and all the others were dying and the bloke was crying whilst telling the guns to stop. That was really sad.

the bit at the beginning of saving private ryan always chokes me but i've never fully cried at it...the 9/11 documentary them 2 french brothers made i felt that awful cry feeling inside all the way through but i was watching it at college and would've looked like a nancy go pufter boy...bowling for columbine nearly did at some bits like after they show the columbine massacre....green mile had me close...

i've never actually cried though

I almost cried at the end of American History X.

Not the first time coz it wos during a english class. (where alot of people n my class did)

But when i bought vid and watched it again at home.

Yes, there is few movies,

I cried during jeepers creepers...

something like "Jesus christ, I paid good money to see this absolute titwank, and I can't get a refund ;("
Just about all theaters will give you a refund if you tell them the movie sucked. Their logic is that if you are happy you will come back, but please abuse the system.

when i was 5... Cheetah

when i was 14 or so... Armageddon

when i was 18... Life is Beautiful

I'm suprised Pay It Forward has not been mentioned.

So sad . . . ;(

wow, I forgot about that film.. It was a good one too.

American Beauty was great aswell..

Don´t think so. Maby I cried some when I was little, but rarely do it anymore. Well, I almost cryed when I watched Titanic.

I've never bursted out in tears, but I was touched by a few movies, yes

The Green Mile nearly made me cry... but I was surrounded by people so I didn't...
