I thought this might make a good convo. Has anyone had a traffic violation or speeding ticket? I got on the other night for going 78 in a 65 mph zone. Damn cops think theyre so tough and think they have the right to speed since they cant be fined for it.

Is just stupid what you say.
No laws= Anarchy
I dont have a problem with the laws, it's cops that speed because they know they can that I hate. I was driving with the flow of traffic in the fast lane and the cop picked me out.

Obviosly its a conspiracy. The cops just want to piss you off.

Man, come to Mexico, cops stop you for money, randomly, and seing that I have Texas plates, they just love my car.

I almost got one last year which is funny because I don't own a car or have a licence - I was driving a friend's car and I talked my way out of it. And yeah my friend was with me but he was completely stoned and out of it. Guess I was lucky :)

damit right you were lucky

I never have, and I never will. :E

My parents have managed to get a few, though.

Yeah he said he could fine me big time and bar me from taking driver's ed or the exam for five years or so. But it was outside Paris, in the suburbs and I was clearly sober and apologized and kissed so much ass he let me go with just a warning.

Sweet, sweet. I wish the cops here in america werent mostly huge assholes.

They aren't.

Maybe you were an asshole to them. (no offense)

I know what you mean, when I was around eleven or twelve I used to live in Sherman Oaks near Burbank CA: my parents were invited somewhere and long story short on the way back around 12PM a black&white pulled us over, me and my brother were asleep but the flashing light and siren kinda woke us up. So we took off our seatbelts and looked through the back windshield to see what was going on and at that point the officer comes and swings the flashlight in my face and tells my dad "your kids have to wear their seatbelts at all times sir". And he fined him for that :|

He pulled us over for a broken tail-light by the way, and he also fined us for that.

yea i hate cops tha be doin that

couple days ago around 11 pm i came across a cop and he ran the red light. then i caught up to them on the next light and i pulled down my windo and said "you know you guys ran a red light" and they gave me this pissed of look and said "what did you say" and i told them nevermind and pulled my window back up because i thought they would give me a ticket for something so i took a right...i dont like cops that be doin those things like crooked cops

I haven't had a traffic ticket since 1995 and it was my only speeding fine ever.

Most of the time if you treat the Officers with an amount of respect things go allot easier. Think about it, the majority of the people they come in contact with are the dregs of society, or just plain morons.

Besides you already admited you were speeding so I have no sympathy for you, it doesn't matter what the flow of traffic is, you were just the lucky winner of the prize for speeding :D

Hey, atleast you had the balls to follow through and..........oh wait, nevermind you rolled your window back and tucked your tail between your legs.

You're lucky they didn't make a u turn and pull you over just for acting suspicious makeing a right like that.

Ehh..I knew a few nice ones around..but most of them are assholes with that stern attitude, the fake oaklies and the gay 10 gallon hat and they act like mr. macho
EDIT: I do treat them with as much respect as possible w/o doing any ass kissing. It helps some.

You were lucky, Gendarmes are really harsh.
Next time try and bribe him ;)

I have been driving my car for 4 years and haven't been stopped by the police once. Not even for a technical inspection.

In over 6 yeards of driving I've never been pulled over by the police.

It's amazing what not speeding will do for you. :)

Nope. Funny story though, I was in the car with me Nan once and she pulled up to a breathaliser checkpoint, they asked her to please breath into the device and she plainly said "no thankyou," and cruised off. The cop looked completely dumbfounded :D

I drive 60 in 30 lanes...
And 70 in 45 lanes...
I havent gotten a ticker.
Nor do i plan on it
Luck favors the young
And the stoopid :)

If everyone else does it it does not make it okay.

Actually i think it does...
So if you were sitting in class, and suddenly everybody started trashing the building, vandalizing, and assaulting staff, that means it is okay to do it?

If everyone was doing it...
Including the staff
And the governor
And the parents
Then yes.

Oh yea, and santa
(And you)

I'm glad I'm not at your school. (if you're still in school.)

edit: Guess you thought I meant everyone as in "100% of the population"

"Everyone" means those there at the time. For instance - "Everyone" at the location started looting and rioting.

Yes, im in school
But what are the odds
You and the president
And old saint nick
Are going to come down
Here and start rioting...?
Along with michael jackson
And Martha stewart

"Everyone" means everyone that is in the current location/situation. Not everyone in the world / large area.

If everybody in the lane within your vision was speeding, that doesn't make it okay.

RakuraiTenjin, you seem like the kind of person thatd never step a foot out of line. Live a little!

I'm still waiting to see if I get a ticket (and more) for doing 140mph in a 60mph zone nearly 14 days ago. Only 3 days to go until I can breathe a sigh of relief.

wow. Theres a guy at my work who has a Mazda 6, with a few engine mods. He was doing 147 MPH in a 65 MPH zone on interstate 70...13 points on his licnse, $800 fine. (your license can be suspended at 8, revoked at 12). He took his car and got it registered in south carolina (where his parents live) so he can still drive.

Parrot Of Doom: What kind of car do you have? It's gotta be nice if it can do 140. Even though my dads 1.8T jetta can (if it werent limited to 130)

Audi TT. Can get to 151mph in less than 30 seconds, with no hassle. If I got caught (I'm being paranoid, no cameras on road that day, didn't see anything, and only did it for about 10 seconds), I'm banned.

That would probablly be jail time for going that much above the speed limit.
They may be coming to your house right now.....is somebody knocking ;)

Nothing wrong with "bending the rules" I guess you could call it, but don't complain when you get busted for it.

Depends on the situation, but I won't complain if I'm caught for something I was honestly doing wrong.

However, I wouldn't bend the rules when it involves the immediate safety of those around you.
