Its an art film, a great one at that. With music by Philip Glass. Its a real eye opener of a movie, You should see it if you haven't. I shows the world in a whole new perspective, by making the world the main character. The first scene was just clouds and they show them sped up so they look really cool, like fluid. It'll show like city streets in fast motion, it really trips you out...

Sounds like another Primer.
EDIT: 888 Post!

Just watched the trailer, visuals are beautiful, didn't like the music though. I'll be renting this one out if I see it.

I don't care for the Philip Glass "Minimalistic" music, but If you watch the movie it suits it quite well IMO.

I've seen clips from this, as well as some from another one in the series. Very interesting stuff.

Its aged badly, most of the effects can now be found in car commercials.
Good for its time, but requires a large(cinema) screen and copious amounts of drugs to get the most out of it.

ah, sorry.. old habits. anyway, it's a cool film. i don't think it's aged badly at all, in fact i think the effects are quiant in a cute way. :)

*10 pts for me as first person to spell it right in this thread

I've seen something similiar, I think, called Baroka, I think. :|

Anyways, it was something about nature vs. artificiality. Oddly, I generally found the artificiality more beautiful. There were some really awesome stop motion scenes of traffic. And this chicken debeaking plant.

yeah baraka* is similar.. but not as good imo. for this kind of movie, the novelty is a big part of the fun. so the first one you see will undoutedly be the most enjoyable.

I watched it in my lit and film class. Its pretty cool, cept that wierd Koyaanisgatsi humming stuff, but it shows the world in a whole new perspective.

Anyone knows where I can "acquire" this? None of the DVD stores stock it.

Watched it a couple of days ago, visuals were beautiful and the music grew on me. Also, there is another more recent one that the same director made called Powaqqatsi, anyone picked this up?
