Ever think the games you play apply to real life?

I've also noticed that I have an increased appreciation for the beauty of nature. It's so nice that, no matter how good graphics get, they will never come CLOSE to the beauty of a sunset at the beach.

Pfff... the sunset could seriously use more bumpmaps and HDR.

my avatar is Captain Sternn from the movie/comic heavy metal

aa_captainstern.jpg

Is that the movie where The Who or Journey did the music and it's a bunch of different cartoons that are really violent?

If so, that's awesome

ya that's it ..although it didnt have anything by the who ..it had a bunch of artists like Black sabbath, nazareth and Blue Osyter Cult

you should watch it just for the Captain Sternn segment ..it's hilarious

I often say "lol" and "wtf nub" in real life.

I've tried to save (CTRL+S) in school, and I've also tried to load (CTRL+L) after a ghey test. Also the CTRL+C and CTRL+V commands.
I've also tried to spawn weapons out of thin air using the console, and I've tried to press esc to stop life and rethink my strategies :p

If I play too much of one game in a short period of time (e.g. CoD2 on a 3-day LAN), I keep playing the game when I close my eyes and go to sleep. I dream all the time about it then. It's pretty fun :D

I was playing paintball and decided to hide behind a wrecked car instead of the big stack of tires... I mean, everyone hides behind the car in games.

Well, that turned out to be a mistake

I thought that I could use Teras Kasi to destroy an RV.
I once decided that WW2 was going on and camped inside with a carbine.
I tryed being Gordon Freeman in school, it worked as far as not talking goes.
I say wtf all the time. I call people f*king nubs all the time. I call my friends ghey all the time.
I ate a mushroom and stepped on a turtle, I said "owned". it didn't die though, dont worry.
I am a Jedi Knight, I have perfect proof.

Ok now im starting to go off topic. But actually I say wtf and nub and ghey all the time. And I run like Gordon does in HL1. I also always reinact a round of CS with my friends at school.

I've often thought I could shoot-dodge like Max Payne... but for some reason time doesn't slow down like I want it to, and my aim doesn't improve :(

Also, I remember seeing the buttons being pressed and the mouse moving during the FPS part in the Doom movie and thinking I could've done a lot better.

I remember after playing Max Payne I went outside and dived off a porch. Right side of my body hurt for a few days. I don't know how he does it :(

once in the past when i wasn't under the influence of magic mushrooms i got confused and thought the combine were in my closet because the music was taking a nasty turn but then i changed to boards of canada and they melted into light

in retrospect i ate too many [nonexistent] mushrooms

I sometimes think I can zoom in on something I'm looking at that's far away ...I'd really like to be able to do that

if i play WAY too much, i end up going to bed and literrally playing the game again. And its the most realistic dream Ive ever head. Freaks you out...and the crappy part is im no better in the morning!

Hahaha I can't believe these stories, they're great. Closest game real-life story is when I go to bed after playing half life. When the headcrab jumps for my face I get make all sorts of epileptic movements

About a month ago, me and a bunch of my friends went paintballing. We, that is to say I, got really, really drunk before we left. About halfway through the first round, I decided that the best way to avoid getting hit would be to start bunny hopping. As you can probably guess, it didn't work out so well. I ran out from the tree I was behind towards my friend Chris who was crouched behind a pile of cinder blocks about thirty feet away. I remember shouting "I can dance all day, I can dance all day, try and hit me, try and hit me, c'mon." ya know, just like in fps Doug. Well, he did hit me. His first shot nailed me right in the crotch. I must have passed out, because the next thing I remember, I was on the ground with a pair of swolen testicles and a facemask full of vomit.

After playing Half-Life 2 for the first time, and walking home in the dark after some rain, I couldn't help but think "wow, the reflections on the ground look a lot like those from Half-Life 2," and when I saw some wooden crates and whatnot lying around, I thought the same. It was kind of pathetic.

I've done that from time to time.

If you know what the crack dealers in GTA: SA look like (ones with white hoodies), then you'll get my story more...

I was really tired, and I was walking in the hallways of my school, and there was a kid who looked exactly like the crack dealer, and I went to switch to my pistol, so I could get $2000 and buy more guns with it, it wouldn't switch, and then realised that I'm a dumbass...

After playing Oblivion, I kept thinking "i'll just quicksave" before I got my finals...

I think the most I may have done is been like "why can't they make games with graphics like these, I mean HDR isn't that bright" Then I saw on the tv of a dude outside while it was sunny, and valve got that full bloom right

Once I was working outside in the middle of the summer and got heat exhaustion, and everything turned bright and fuzzy, and I thought "Oh crap it's a real-life blooming effect. So games with way too much bloom are really just emulating... heat exhaustion? AMAZING."

Other than that, sometimes I keep hearing the door-opening/closing noises from Doom 2 in my head (seriously, I don't know if it's because that game has distinctive door noises or something?). Also, I once had a class called Higher Level Math, and everyone always abbreviated it "HL Math," and every single time I saw or heard that, I'd think, "Half-Life Math class? What the heck are you talking about?"

Oh, and once on the news they showed this burglar who was trying to enter a store through the vents, and got stuck there so they had to pull him out, and I thought of vent-crawling in Half-Life and started wondering how the heck you're supposed to fit through all those little vents...

I was sitting on a picnic table in A&W, waiting for my parents to pick up me. I was over in a corner, so I looked up at the building and so a ledge. Immediatly I planned on bunnyhopping up there.

I've tried to zoom in on things before. There's also a house outside my back window that has really cool HDR on it when I get home from school. When I see something with small details on it sometimes I look at it closely and think "Wow, it's not even normal mapped" and physics (especially liquids), shadows, and things that reflect and refract are fascinating to me.

My cousin got a plush headcrab from Valve, and placed it next to me when I was sleeping. When I woke up, I literally screamed and threw myself backwards - into the wall.

You should see my school afterschool. The sun comes down and shines through the windows on all the lockers. Insane HDR!!!

I tried turning up the volume on my teacher, Ctrl+Z my crooked lines in art class, thought to myself, "damn I should make a map out of this", considered the options for modeling various objects, and thought of hitting "y key" and "enter" before saying random statements.

You know that movie "Click"? Yeah, I wish I had something like that...except a keyboard.

I was filming with my digital camera and pointed it out a window. The whole screen went white and faded away back to the scenery. Instant reminder of HDR.

After playing smod too much I was trying to slow down time whenever I was making a difficult decision. I started thinking that the world is going too fast. Then after a few days I forgot all about it.

But when he asked me if I needed assistance in getting home, I waved my hand and said "Not a problem. I'll just Hearthstone". For those of you who don't know, a Hearthstone is an item in World of Warcraft that warps you to a saved location. He gave me a puzzled look and then walked away, throwing his hands up in the air and shaking his head.

I don't think I have anything to contribute. I'm a little hardcore on reality.

If I get really tired though, I use CS:S commands on half the things I do. Y before I talk, buy ammo and weps when I get up.

I have a habit of dropping inside jokes from my Guild Wars guild when I'm hanging out with my real life friends. I'm laughing uncontrollably at the hilarity of it all, and they're pretty sure I've lost it completely. (I'd show them the stars... and the meaning of life... they'd shut me away... but I'll be alright. I'm just... uptight. UPTIGHT!!)

I've also noticed that I have an increased appreciation for the beauty of nature. It's so nice that, no matter how good graphics get, they will never come CLOSE to the beauty of a sunset at the beach.
Heh, on a similar, but less healthy, note, I often find myself in awe of the amazing high res textures and bump mapping on my lawn. The sunset yesterday had some truly cutting edge HDR effects. AND FULLY DYNAMIC SHADOWING, NONE OF THIS STATIC SOURCE CRAP.
