So, the beta is suppose to start this month, and they will also be sending out the beta accpetances soon, so, anyone here sign up for the beta? i did, me and the 10,000,000 other people, I never played the first everquest, i actually dont know even know the story behind everquest, but everquest 2 looks, and sounds amazeing, and a lot of people play the original still, so how can this game not be good?

I signed up for it but it was on my older computer, but they said as long as it meets the minimum requirments I should be ok....

Beh.. everquest = suxxors in my opinion.

If your talking about the first everquest then i cant agree/disagree with you since i never played it, but if you are talking about the second everquest then what sucks about it... besides all of the role players and people that take the game as seriously as their real liffe, but every mmorpg has some of those people.

where can I sign up?

nevermind, I guess they got enough. Oh well, I'm glad I didn't get some virtual crack.

Epyon your avatar looks like a deranged cigarette :/

craigweb, Alex the Kid = r0x.
Props on that avatar, I still have the master system, built in game.. good times!

heh, I got a master system II when I was about 12 bundled with Tazmanian Devil and Alex Kidd built in. I completed the Taz game in about 4 hours, but the Alex Kidd game took me weeks..!

Paper...!! Paper!!

*damn scissors!*

ah, I meant to say I have a master system II.. my bad ;)
Either way, it still rocks. lol, did you ever get Zillion? Some of the craziest games on that system.. so different than games these days (zillion was like a side scroller shooter that was 50% memory)

Atleast someone noticed my new avatar, its not a cigarette, it was a big picture, that was something, but i made it small so it is just the face of the thing becuase i liked the face, but im not saying what it really is, someone has to guess it.

Pff, Everquest. WoW is where its at.

If "where it's at" is an empty room next to a nuclear power plant in New Jersey, then yeah, that is "where it's at"

EQ is and will forever be remembered as the best MMO game ever, they did it the best (UO blows, don't tell me otherwise) and they were the first to do 3d in their genre, I currently play EQ and always can find something to do, I have played EVERY MMO out there (except WoW and Motor City Online) and EQ is the only one I have spent 3 years combined time on.

Can't wait for Everquest 2. Hoping that I get in the beta. Verant/SoE really hit it big with Everquest. Everquest is 5 or 6 years old and still has lotsa members. I cannot wait to see how much SoE has improved.

ive been confused lately about WoW, whats so special about it, it looks like any other mmorpg, and its graphics arent even close to what EQ2 has, and yea, graphics arent everything but it helps.

:x Someone send me their account just for one DAY!

Wow, I thought my chance to get in had already long past... sweet, I still have a chance! :D

Everquest II sounds so awesome... never played the first... never have even seen the first... but this one still sounds awesome. :)

In case you've never seen EQ. It looks like it is somewhere between Quake and Quake 2 in terms of graphical detail.

The newer shots of EQ2 look great (well, except for a couple). Much better than the first screenshots. The early publicity shots looked like shit (hi-poly shit with normal/bump mapping and dynamic lighting... but shit nonetheless).

Oh yeah, I signed up too. I thought they already sent out the e-mails and I was just not accepted... now if I can just remember which address I used.

Whats wrong with that? I'd rather people like that playing MMORPGS than the typical CS crowd who haven't a clue how to role play and spoil MMORPGS for everyone else. More role players less dickheads kthx.

Well the role players dont bother me as much as the people that take this game seriously like their own life so if they die in the game they think about commiting suicide, i dont really mind people that role play to a degree, te roleplayers that role play with their friends and stuff are fine, but i hate the roleplayers that get into everyones buisness and they start talking to you telling you that your name doesnt fit the game or that you shouldnt be wearing that armor becuase it is sacred to some fake family that they made up. Those roleplayers are the dickheads that mess up the game.

Two words:
Blizzard Entertainment

..two more words:
WarCraft universe

but seriously though, is their anything special about WoW? I mean, there must be, becuase everyone is hypeing it, so can someone fill me in.

Blizzard games are always fun no matter what. And a MMORPG in the warcraft universe is appealing to casual gamers who wouldn't even go near a MMORPG.

Blizzard games are also easy to get the hang of, enjoyable, entertaining and easy on the cpu requirements :)

EQ2 beta update!

Hello all,

Some weeks have passed since we began taking EverQuest II beta applications, so we thought the community was due for an update on the status of the beta program.

I'm happy to report that we're pleased by the things we've learned through our in-house testing and are now ready to expand this private phase by bringing in family members and other close associates to help us test the game further.

After this initial phase, we will begin inviting testers who qualify for special phases of our beta. This will start with our long-term Legends subscribers, followed by those who took advantage of our Lords of EverQuest preorder offer and other special promotions. This will be followed by a wider public beta consisting of people who applied on our official website, with preference given to long-term EverQuest subscribers. Those who won slots in beta through contests and giveaways will be invited sometime during this phase.

Our French, German, and British beta tests will be timed to coincide as much as possible with similar phases of the US beta. Applicants to the European beta will be contacted in the coming weeks with more details on those programs.

Finally, I thought it would be fun to share with you some details gleaned from our beta program since the last player wipe. Many of us have been playing at home until the wee hours of the morning, and it's interesting to see how some of these stats are shaping up.

The most-played adventure archetype is the fighter, followed by mage, priest, and scout. The most-played races are dark elf, half elf, and kerra; the least-played races are ogre, halfling, and troll. The ratonga are just edging out humans right in the center of the pack. The wealthiest character has nearly two gold to his name (remember, we're on a base 100 monetary system as opposed to EverQuest's base 10). Lots of characters already have multiple days played, so we're happy to report that people are having fun playing!

Thanks once again for your interest in EverQuest II. We're looking forward to seeing many of you in beta!

yea i read it last night....this means that they are going to pick the people that played everquest online first, and then pick like 10 people that signed up through the beta form on the site :(

let me tell u the story of a man, a story told in Time:

a 29 year old man played everquets for 48 hours straight, the server logged him as moving that entire time, therofor he only got up to piss

he shoy himself afterwards with a .38 pistol, and the last thing he rambled about in the game chat was that he could beat the red dragon with some septar someone else sold him.

friends dont let friends play everquest.
