Everquest 2 is FREEE

It's just the newbie boat and newb island. you can only get up to lvl 6 before there is nothing else to do. However, the newbie island is kinda fun.

Honestly? Having tried EQ2, they couldn't pay me to give up WoW to play it again.

You mean not even ZM was enough to get you clean of the WoW addiction? :O

May as well try it, never seen what all the fuss was about MMORPGs

Never played a MMORPG before either, will definately give this a go.

My connection drops quite often at the moment; what will be the result of this if in the game? Anyone know?

WoW has me far too hooked to even think about spending time doing something other than leveling my Night Elf hunter.

I may try it sometime, always wondered what all the fuss about EQ was so maybe i'll be able to get a sense of that from EQ2...

Doubt i'd swap WoW for EQ2 though, theres no PvP :x and WoW is way to good.

What's PvP?

Oh, and does anyone know the answer to my questions further up? :hmph:

if you drop connection you get knocked off the server (at least in WoW)

PvP means Player vs player

So what is the point in it being online? Do you just play against some AI? Because that would really suck!

If it's what I think it is, it's a demo that I finished w/ two chars in a week.

Edit: Yes it is.

Well ive really just out-played WoW.. im ending my subscription sept 10. Then i dont think ill go back.

I played the Trial of the Isle for EQ2 and it really wasnt that impressive. If i had a super computer to run it at all max settings, it would be better (and my comp runs it pretty well at nice settings). However, I loved first playing WoW and exploring new areas with other people (actually i expirenced this more in FFXI where me and 5 other people ventured off into different cities on foot. Very funny/exciting trip we took.) Thats why i was reconsidering maybe getting EQ2, so that i can re-expirence the whole exploration thing. But.. not sure :p

well no, you can play on different servers ..some are PvP some arent. PvP usually involves things like raids, duels etc

but there's much more than just fighting ai in non pvp servers ...half the fun is teaming up with a bunch of strangers and storming a dungeon. Plus there's trading, auctions, resource gathering, exploring (WoW is huge ..you could travel for hours), socialising etc

might try it
i remember the hype about everquest 2
sad to see it has disappeared despite the popularity of the first.........

2 Characters in a week? I did 3 characters in a week.

EQ2 is great, I love it more then WoW because of it's variety of spells.
Character Traits.
Also, the variety in quests (From what I have seen so far).

Also, this is just a small island where you can get up to level 6.
IMO, this only shows a small bit of the game.

just as a note, there will be PVP once the expansion comes out for eq2. Plus arena champions( take control of yourself or a pet, of which there are many that you can buy, and go pvp in an arena). I'm actually in beta for the expansion, and I can't wait for teh full thing! :)

I had my first EQ2 (and MMORPG) experience last night, was quite impressed with what I saw. Going to get to grips with all the controls and classes etc and then might go for the full game. I was with 2 or 3 other n00bs but we all helped each other with bits and pieces, that's what I thought was really cool.

I was reading about the pets last night; sounds like fun :D

SOE are just upset because WoW has 4 million subscribers, and no-one likes SOE because they treat customers like bags of money.

Sorry to go off topic but is there a WoW free trial in the new PCGamer UK? I'm gutted I sold my copy of WoW that I won with all those other games, I'm bored shitless now.
