3 episodes will probably work out at the same value for money as a single game, and they're priced at the same price as a single game. For the price of 3 games, you get 3 games worth of content. Problem? In fact, it's even better than that because no-one is holding a gun to your head and forcing you to cough up for the next 8 installments if you find that you don't want to play the game.

I'm excited to check it out, its preloaded and preordered. Now i'm playing around in the original to get the back story.

$180 in full, but you're given the option not to buy them all. Plus, every 3 episodes is about what they're trying to be story-wise about equivalent to a full-length game, which is about 18 hours of gameplay, much longer than most modern shooters, much much longer than most modern shooter that don't get monotonous. And each of the 3-hour sets comes to $60, which is a typical price for a full game upon release.

There's no telling if the price will come down over time, but I wouldn't be surprised if episodes 1-3 came down to maybe $15 when they're trying to promote episodes 4-6.

So basically, the 9 episode set they have planned is about equivalent to a game and two sequels, and $180 is about what it would cost in traditional retail to buy each of those games opening day.

And if you try it and decide you just don't like the feel of the game, you're only out $20 instead of $60.

Still not too sure. Sceptic about not getting a full product. Episodic/micro downloads for money seem like asking for trouble. There is no guarantee that they can finish too the end.
