This game has gotta be some of the best I've ever played. From the 60s soundtrack to the torture method (I really can't spoil it, you have got to see it for yourself) to the "morphing" after training. I just spent over half an hour like this -

Really, download the demo now and try it out yourself.

Get it here without lines and up to 512b of speed.

yeah it's a bloody awesome game :D

preordered mine approximately 30 seconds after finishing the demo. can't wait!

hehe, glad to see I'm not alone.

This is now on par with HL2 on my wish list.

I assume you've played Dungeon Keeper 1/2, since Evil Genius (which I like by the way), borrows heavily on the basic game mechanisms.

yeah that's half the charm of it. you can't fault Dungeon Keeper's gameplay, and you add some of Elixir's famed ingenuity and you've got a great game. the kitsch 60s spy setting makes it more appealing than DK's setting in my opinion. so it's got quite a few plusses over it.

Tks, tks, tks (shacking my game from side to side) :p

Here is a quick summery of the game, sounds familiar :)

Dungeon Keeper(tm) 2 is a genre-defying blend of real-time strategy, god sim, first-person action and fantasy role-playing. DK2 turns the traditional tables by placing you in the role of sinister archfiend and master of the cavernous Underworld. Build a dungeon to your own design, lay traps and doors to protect yourself, recruit an army of foul creatures and lure the heroic adventurers to their doom in your quest to reach the surface world of humankind.

I've heard about it, no need for a summary :p

Anyways, seems like we 3 are alone on this one...

To be honest, I didn't really understand what the purpose was. It was pretty fun(ny) though, and I'll have to invest more time into it.
Only thing that was pretty annoying is that (literally) every 10 seconds there are enemy agents on your doorstep and that I had to build big freezers for all those bodies.

BTW, what way is there to earn money? My budget just shrunk and almost depleted.

Great game :E
Loved Dungeon Keeper 1 and 2 also :)
*preorders*

The enemy agents can be easily fixed in the full version with traps, which unfortunately weren't available in the demo. Also in the full game you are only attacked by the agents of the countries you've tried "worked" on (read below).

Besides, freezing bodies is only necessary when tourists start coming (which apparently also gives you money)

if you read Gamespot's preview they say that in the full game you can send your minions around the World to rob things, and sometimes if you can make a huge heist and win lots of money actually. The icon to do it says that it isn't available in the demo

Is there a way to skip the tutorial and play a game? I've spent about 15 minutes going through this slow subtitle-less tutorial, and it's gone and "frozen" because a worker got stuck behind 3 punchbags I built, and he just runs around screaming. The tutorial won't continue...

Do I have to build a cage for that petty theif? cause I tried to capture him and he just walk around in my base. (along with the agents)

He's panicking. Just order him shot.

I really liked the demo. But I found myself having to build mass amounts of refrigeration to store all the accumulating bodies. Why can'y they just go bury those bastards out in the desert?

read my answer above. You can perfectly leave them. And read Gamespot's preview.

For some reason when there were lots of bodies lying around my minions would start panicking. I built some freezer space and they stopped. I think it has more to do with troop morale than it does with tourists.

In the full game there wont be so many commandos/agents coming into your base. In the full game there will be a heat system so the lower you lay the fewer will come. I think in the demo they just showed you what it is like when you are globally wanted (and on the easy setting I think).

In the full game you will also be able to earn money on doing criminal stuff as well as tourism.

I see someone read the previews....

Lol i liked playing it also. I played it for over 3 hours. Kept messing around with stuff.

Bloody amazing game, it takes everything that made DK2 good and makes it even better. If I somehow have money when this game comes out, perhaps I won't pirate it... :naughty:

hmmm, pirating a game from EA. I'd feel as guilty as robbing Gorge Bush, which is to say, it'd have no problems whatsoever.

Unfortunatly, I really don't like the game so pirating it would be just a waste of bandwidth.

I thought it was ok, but Dungeon Keeper 1 was FAR better. Dungeon Keeper 1 was FAR better than Dungeon Keeper 2 as well..

Well I would feel that way if I was pirating a sports game from EA, which I wouldn't, because they seem to regularly suck a lot. But more unique games like The Sims 2, Evil Genius, you know, games that are worth my money, that's different.

It's not only robbing EA, which I agree isn't so bad. It's mainly hurting the developer Elixer, which I would have a huge problem with.

That too. Most of the EA-developed games (which is pretty much all their sports games) suck which is why I would pirate them, but since Sims 2 and EG are third-party games, then I'd feel bad for pirating them.

The only game I would pirate (after having bought it): Enter the Matrix, I still spit on that game on a daily basis.
