This was on the front page yesterday. They didn't release his name until today. I knew this guy from grades 5-7. He definitely had some social problems, something stemming from his single mom that I never found out. I wouldn't say he doesn't deserve punishment, but from what I remember he was so messed up that prison would be the worst place for him to go.
Apparently the guy had just proposed to the woman an hour before they were killed.
Aneez Mohamed, 31, and fiance Chanelle Morgan, 25, were killed just before midnight when struck by an SUV as they walked on a marked crosswalk on Fourth Avenue under the Granville Bridge on their way home.
Rock is charged with two counts of dangerous driving causing death, two counts of impaired driving causing death, two counts of failing to stop at an accident causing bodily harm, theft over $5,000 and possession of stolen property.
