I just got 146 of PC Gamer (UK, NOT AMERICAN :) ) and a came across a page. From the material an Expansion featuring Alyx Vance (And DOG but i dont know if you play him :smoking: ) Is in the making and is apparently headed for release late 2005.

Although i doubt that Valves track record for release dates is going to be improved :dozey:

AND BEFORE ANYONE REPLIES, I HAVE NOT SEARCHED THIS TOPIC, SO DONT FLAME AND DO SUPPLY A LINK. :afro:
 
It has been a romour for a long time, but never confirmed.
 
Here is a quite from Doug Lombardi:
"Of course wer'e interested in telling more about the universe we have created and therefore will continue making sequels to the game. At the moment we're working on a game where you play as Alyx and her well-known robot dog - Dog...i can't tell more at the moment."

(Late 2005 is billed as the official ETA by PC Gamer UK, and they almost allways get their facts right.)
 
Nice, I've opened a thread regarding this aswell, but when I did, this topic didn't existed. Well, I think we both hit the ''new thread'' button the exact same time :LOL:

This has been confirmed for a short while now, actually, but it's still exciting news. The whole article in the mag is interesting though.

And no scans, please.
 
Hopping on stalkers with dog, very nice indeed. I wonder if we will se Gordon Freeman....


I hope it will be released for christmas though. :D
 
I think it will be SHIT playing as dog. It just won't flow or fit in with the rest of the Half Life saga. FFS it'll be like playing mech warrior.

Also is there any info at all as to the time period we'll be playing in? Before Gordon arrives or after?

How do i host pictures?

As far as i know its set before HL2, so you dont see Freeman, so as you dont break the 'frame' of the game

Not really excited by playing as Alex. It's annoying when companies throw decent looking chicks in their games.

Well i don't know the publishing laws of your country but i'm pretty sure its illegal where i live.

Yes it is illegal. And no, you can't go to jail for it. No one cares. It's like downloading music, just in this case you are stealing readers from a magazine.
 
Anyway, i wonder if the Antlion King will be in the expansion?

Hey, whatever happened to that green shirt alyx was wearing in the screenies for HL2 in E3 2003?
 
I personally doubt you'll play as DOG at all, he'll probably just come with you, it would completely spoil the game if you swapped characters half way through.
It shouln't make a difference whether your playing as a female or a male, you don't ever see the character from a 3rd person perspective while playing.
Hopefully it's not before Gordon arrives though, I want more of the fights from the resistance before Gordon entered the Citadel, they were cool.
 
Wait a minute...if you played as Dog or Alyx will you get to see Gordon speak?!!! :p :p
 
I read the pc gamer article, and i noticed that alyx's gun folds out into a sniper rifle or some sort of automatic rifle. was that viewable through the viewer? i havent seen it anywhere else, and that seems one of the most likely candidates for a feature in the expansion.
 
its most likely so take place before you meet gordon. in teh mag they say theres so much back story that it must be before gordans arrival.

Theres the shelling of ravenholm, the building of dog, the building of the teleporter and some other points they said aswell which all revolved around alyx before gordan came.
 
Playing as dog would be fun! With all those extra features like jumping on striders, play ''fetch the combine'' and destroying buildings, and making the combine suffer :eek: . I hope, that, it will have an option to brake the environment.
