i was messing around with shapes and materials in 3DSMax. and i found a pretty good shape that i could mess with. So i did, the picture is on my website. www.mindashole.cjb.net

wow cool would you mind setting the background color to a light/medium green and rendering it at 1280x960 for me please? pretty please? I don't have a good background either and i like that one

the actual shapes are bouncing the colors off the background at the moment. but i wouldnt mind messing with the colors to see what kind of effects i can get. i will post it on my site once its done, ETA: in about a day or two. Im glad you guys liked it. anything wrong that sticks out?

ehehe, was sposed to go golfing today, but it was too hot, and its my brothers birthday, so i got tons of free time, so i worked on my "Abstract Art" and i got it green . i know it doesnt look as great as the yellowish one. but if u want it maxikana. its on my site. I am gonna mess with the colors more today, and i will put em on my site if they are anygood

ahh, that would be awsome, although it means i would have to redo all the links for my images, it'll be back in an hour, so its down eh? that sucks, cause i just did another one, with purple and pink, and it looks (without bragging) AWSOME. serious, looks so cool. i guess u have to wait an hour to see .

EDIT: try now, cause when i try it, it works. BTW, ill try to get hosting somewhere else, but, i cant pay for it. i have no money, cause i just bought a Radeon 9600 XT and a second stick of 512 DDR ram , so that im ready for HL2 when it comes out :thumbs:.

ok, now, im in desperate need of someone to host my pics. i have about, 5 or 6 different versions of my abstract art, and they are all about 600 kb, which is too much with Geocities because it uses all of my bandwidth in like, 5 hits. if u can host my pics maxikana, that'd be awsome. or if anyone else can help me out, i would appreciate it.

have you seen that startburst tutorial? It gives similar resaults, and was very quick, if you wanted to improve technique or soemthing.

nah i havnt seen it. i was just working in 3ds max, playing with shapes and stuff. i didnt know anyone else had done this.

I like the shape you're referring to but also your gun models.

I'm going to learn how to do that....

You need alot more practice in modeling itself. Your gunmodels are kinda low quality, just extruded planes with no real good depth. And the your latest one has way to less detail to be 2500 poly's, so a big waste of poly's there. Your abstract stuff.. well.. it has been done before, and its not really abstract. Maby the look but not the idea behind it.
